John 20

20 ¹Early for di first day of di week, while e still dark, Mary Magdalene come reach di tomb, and she see say dem don comot di stone from am. ²So she run go meet Simon Peter and di oda disciple, di one wey Jesus love, and tell dem, “Dem don carry di Oga comot from di tomb, and we no know where dem put am.”

³So Peter and di oda disciple comot, dey go di tomb. ⁴Di two of dem dey run together, but di oda disciple run pass Peter, reach di tomb first. ⁵And as he bend down, he see di linen cloth dem dey lie there, but he no enter inside. ⁶Simon Peter, wey dey follow am for back, come reach and enter di tomb, and he see di linen cloth dem dey lie there, ⁷and di cloth wey bin dey for im head, e no dey lie together with di linen wrapping dem but dem fold am on im own for one place. ⁸Di oda disciple, wey first reach di tomb, come enter too; he see and he believe. ⁹Because dem still never understand di Scripture, say he must rise from di dead.

¹⁰Then di disciples go back to their house. ¹¹But Mary stand outside di tomb, dey cry. As she dey cry, she bend to look inside di tomb.

My Papa and Your Papa

¹²She see two angels wey wear white, dey sit for where Jesus body bin lie, one for di head side, one for di leg side. ¹³Dem ask her, “Woman, why you dey cry?” She answer, “Dem carry my Oga comot, and I no know where dem put am.”

¹⁴As she talk this thing, she turn and see Jesus dey stand there, but she no know say na Jesus.

¹⁵Jesus tell her, “Woman, why you dey cry? Who you dey look for?” As she think say na di gardener, she talk, “Oga, if na you carry am go, tell me where you put am, and I go go carry am.”

¹⁶Jesus tell her, “Mary.” She turn and tell am for Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (wey mean Teacher).

¹⁷Jesus tell her, “No hold me tight, because I never go up reach di Papa yet. Thomas No Dey With Dem

²⁴Now Thomas, one of di Twelve, wey dem dey call Twin, no dey with dem when Jesus come. ²⁵Di oda disciples keep dey tell am, “We don see di Oga!” But he tell dem, “If I no see di nail mark for im hand, put my finger where dem dey, and put my hand for im side, I no go ever believe.”

²⁶After eight days, im disciples dey inside house again, Thomas dey with dem. Even though dem lock di door, Jesus come, stand for their middle, and talk, “Peace dey with una.” ²⁷Then he tell Thomas, “Put your finger here, look my hand. Stretch your hand come, put am for my side. Comot doubt—believe.”

²⁸Thomas answer am, “My Oga and my Papa!”

²⁹Jesus tell am, “Na because you don see me you take believe? Blessing dey for those wey never see, but still believe.”
