As she still dey talk wit di king, Nathan di prophet come reach. Dem tell di king sey, “Nathan di prophet dey here.” Im enter and bow give di king, im face touch ground.

Nathan talk sey, “My oga di king, na you talk sey, ‘Adonijah go rule after me and sidon for my throne’? Today im go down and kill cow, fat animal, and plenty sheep for sacrifice, and im invite all di king sons, di army commanders, and Abiathar di priest. Dem dey chop and dey drink for im front, dey shout, ‘Make King Adonijah live long!’ But me your servant, Zadok di priest, Benaiah di pikin of Jehoiada, and your servant Solomon—Adonijah no invite. Abi na my oga di king order dis ting without tell we your servants who go sidon for im throne after am?”

David Swear Sey na Solomon Go Rule

King David answer sey, “Call Bathsheba come meet me.” She come stand for di king front. Di king come swear sey, “As our Papa dey live, wey rescue my life comot for every trouble, just as I swear give you for our Papa, di God of Israel, name sey, Solomon your pikin go rule after me and go sidon for my throne for my place—na so I go do am today.”

Bathsheba bow face touch ground, she prostrate for di king front, and she talk sey, “Make my oga King David live forever!”

King David talk sey, “Call Zadok di priest, Nathan di prophet, and Benaiah di pikin of Jehoiada come.” Dem come stand for di king front. Di king tell dem sey, “Carry di servants of una oga, put my pikin Solomon on top my own mule, and bring am go down to Gihon. Make Zadok di priest and Nathan di prophet anoint am king over Israel for dia; blow di horn, and shout, ‘Make King Solomon live long!’ Den make una come up follow am, and im go come sidon for my throne and rule for my place, because na im I don appoint make im be ruler over Israel and Judah.”

Benaiah di pikin of Jehoiada answer di king sey, “Amen! Make our Papa, di God of my oga di king, confirm am. As our Papa dey wit my oga di king, na so make im dey wit Solomon, and make im throne big pass di throne of my oga King David.”

So Zadok di priest, Nathan di prophet, Benaiah di pikin of Jehoiada, and di Cherethites and Pelethites go down, dem put Solomon on top King David mule, and dem bring am go Gihon. Zadok di priest carry di horn wey get oil comot from di tent, and im anoint Solomon. Dem blow di trumpet, and everybody shout, “Make King Solomon live long!”

All di people come up follow am, dey blow flute, dey rejoice well well, and di ground come dey shake wit di noise dem dey make.

Adonijah and all im guests hear am, as dem dey finish dia food. Wen Joab hear di horn, im ask, “Wetin dey make di city dey noise like dis?”

Im still dey talk wen Jonathan, di pikin of Abiathar di priest, come reach. Adonijah talk sey, “Enter come—you be better man, and I sure sey you bring good news.”

But Jonathan tell Adonijah sey, “No o—our oga King David don make Solomon king. Di king send Zadok di priest, Nathan di prophet, Benaiah di pikin of Jehoiada, and di Cherethites and Pelethites go wit am; dem put am on top di king mule. Di king servants come too to greet our oga King David, dem talk sey, ‘Make your Papa make Solomon name big pass your own, and make im throne big pass your own.’ Den di king bow for im bed. Di king also talk sey, ‘Make we praise our Papa, di God of Israel, wey today give somebody wey go sidon for my throne, and my own eyes see am.’”

Den all Adonijah guests come dey fear well well. Dem stand up and scatter, everybody waka im own way. But Adonijah, as im dey fear Solomon, im stand up, go, and hold di horns of di altar. a a v50 To grab di corners of di altar wey dey stand out na old-time way to find safe place — na desperate way to beg for mercy and protection so dem no go kill di person. Solomon talk sey, “If im be better man, no even one hair of im head go fall for ground; but if dem find evil for inside am, im go die.”

So King Solomon send make dem bring am, and dem bring am come down from di altar. Im come bow give King Solomon, and Solomon tell am sey, “Go your house.”
