41 ¹After two full years don pass, Pharaoh get dream: e dey stand for beside di River Nile. ²Seven cow, wey fine and fat, comot from di Nile come dey chop grass among di reeds. ³Seven oda cow, wey ugly and just bone, comot after dem from di Nile come stand near dem for di Nile bank. ⁴Di ugly, thin cow chop di seven fine, fat cow, and Pharaoh wake up. ⁵E sleep again come get second dream: seven head of grain, wey fat and good, grow for one stalk. ⁶Den after dem, seven head of grain sprout up—thin and burn by di east wind. ⁷Di thin head swallow di seven fat, full head. Den Pharaoh wake up—na dream e bin be. ⁸For morning im spirit dey trouble; e send call all di magician of Egypt and all im wise men. Pharaoh tell dem im dream, but nobody fit explain dem give am.

⁹Den di chief wine-carrier tell Pharaoh, “Today I remember di wrong wey I do. ¹⁰Pharaoh bin vex for im servants come put me for prison inside di house of di captain of guard, wit di chief bread-maker. ¹¹Me and am, we each dream for di same night, each dream carry im own meaning. ¹²One young Hebrew boy, servant of di captain of guard, dey wit us. We tell am our dream, and e explain each one according to im own meaning. ¹³Just as e explain give us, na so e happen: dem put me back for my position, dem hang di oda one.”

¹⁷Den Pharaoh tell Joseph, “For my dream I dey stand for di bank of di Nile. ¹⁸Seven fat, fine cow comot from di Nile come dey chop grass among di reeds. ¹⁹Den seven oda cow comot after dem—wey just bone, very ugly, thin well well—di kind wey I never see for all di land of Egypt. ²⁰Di dry, ugly cow chop di first seven fat cow. ²¹Even after dem chop dem finish, nobody fit tell, because dem still bad like before. Den I wake up. ²²For my dream I see seven head of grain grow for one stalk, full and good. ²³And after dem, seven head of grain sprout—dry, thin, and burn by di east wind. ²⁴Di thin head swallow di seven good head. I tell di magician, but nobody fit explain am give me.”

²⁵Joseph tell Pharaoh, “Pharaoh dream na one: our Papa don show Pharaoh wetin e dey about to do. ²⁶Di seven good cow na seven years, and di seven good head of grain na seven years—na one dream. ²⁷Di seven thin, ugly cow wey comot after dem na seven years, and di seven empty head wey di east wind burn na seven years of hunger. ²⁸Na dis one I tell Pharaoh: our Papa don show Pharaoh wetin e dey about to do. ²⁹Seven years of plenty plenty food dey come for all di land of Egypt. ³⁰Den seven years of hunger go follow. All di plenty for Egypt go be forgotten, and hunger go finish di land. ³¹Dem go forget di plenty for di land, because di hunger wey go come after go hard well well. ³²Say Pharaoh dream repeat two times mean say our Papa don fix dis matter tight, and our Papa go soon do am.

³³So make Pharaoh find one man wey get sense and wise, put am over di land of Egypt. ³⁴Make Pharaoh take action come appoint overseers over di land, and take one-fifth of Egypt harvest during di seven years of plenty. ³⁵Make dem gather all di food of dis good years wey dey come, and store grain under Pharaoh hand as food for di cities, and guard am. ³⁶Dat food go be reserve for di land during di seven years of hunger wey go come on di land of Egypt, so dat hunger no go finish di land.”

Wise Plan for di Years Wey Dey Come

³⁷Di plan sweet Pharaoh and all im servants. ³⁸Pharaoh tell im servants, “We fit find anybody like dis, man wey get God Spirit inside am?” ³⁹Pharaoh tell Joseph, “Since God don show you all dis thing, nobody get sense and wise like you. ⁴⁰You go dey over my house; all my people go obey wetin you talk. Na for di throne alone I go big pass you.” ⁴¹And Pharaoh tell Joseph, “See, I don set you over all di land of Egypt.”

Pharaoh tell all di Egyptians, “Go meet Joseph; do whatever e tell you.” ⁵⁶As di hunger spread across di land, Joseph open all di storehouse come sell grain to di Egyptians, because di hunger hard well well for Egypt. ⁵⁷All di earth come Egypt to buy grain from Joseph, because di hunger hold all di earth.
