Now from afternoon reach three o'clock for evening, darkness cover di whole land.

Around three o'clock for evening, Jesus cry with loud voice say, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?"—wey mean, "My God, my God, why you don leave me?"

Wen some of di people wey stand there hear am, dem talk say, "Dis man dey call Elijah." One of dem run sharp-sharp, soak sponge inside sour wine, put am for reed, give am make e drink. But di odas talk say, "Leave am. Make we see whether Elijah go come save am."

And Jesus cry out again with loud voice, den e give up im spirit. Just like dat, di curtain of di temple tear into two, from up reach ground. Di ground shake, di rock dem split. Di tomb dem open, and plenty body of di holy people wey don sleep die wake come alive. Afta Jesus don rise from death, dem comot for di tomb, enter di holy city, appear to plenty people.

Wen di centurion and di people wey dey with am dey guard Jesus see di earthquake and all di tins wey happen, fear catch dem well well, dem talk say, "True-true, dis man na di Pikin of God!"

Plenty women dey watch from far; na dem follow Jesus from Galilee come, dey serve am. Among dem: Mary Magdalene, Mary di mama of James and Joseph, and di mama of Zebedee im pikin dem.

Dem Put Jesus for Inside Tomb

Wen evening reach, one rich man from Arimathea wey im name na Joseph come, imsef na disciple of Jesus. E go meet Pilate ask for Jesus im body. Den Pilate give order make dem give am. Joseph carry di body, wrap am with clean white linen cloth. E put am inside im own new tomb wey dem cut enter rock, e roll one big stone cover di door of di tomb, den e comot.
