4 ¹So when Jesus know say di Pharisee people don hear say im dey make and baptize plenty disciple pass John, ²(although na no be Jesus imsef dey baptize, na im disciple dem), ³im comot for Judea go back to Galilee. ⁴And e must to pass through Samaria. ⁵So im come reach one town for Samaria wey dem dey call Sychar, near di piece of land wey Jacob give im pikin Joseph. ⁶Jacob well dey for dia. Jesus, wey tire from di journey, come sidon for di well—around afternoon time. ^a a v6 If you count from wen sun rise, di sixth hour na around afternoon time.

⁷One woman of Samaria come to draw water. Jesus tell am, “Gimme small water make I drink.”

⁸(Because im disciple dem don go inside di town go buy food.).

⁹Di Samaria woman tell am, “You be Jew; why you dey ask me, wey be Samaria woman, for water make you drink?” (Jew people no dey mix wit Samaria people.).

¹⁰Jesus answer am, “If you sabi di gift of our Papa, and who be di one wey dey ask you, ‘Gimme water make I drink,’ you for don ask am, and im for don give you water wey get life.”

¹¹Di woman tell am, “Oga, you no get anything to draw water wit, and di well deep well well. So which place you go take get dis water wey get life? ¹²You big pass our papa Jacob, wey give us dis well, wey imsef drink from am, wit im pikin dem and im animal dem?”

¹³Jesus tell am, “Everybody wey drink dis water go still thirsty again, ¹⁴but anybody wey drink di water wey I go give am no go ever thirsty again; dat water go turn inside am to spring wey dey gush up reach life wey no dey end.”

¹⁵Di woman tell am, “Oga, gimme dis water, make thirst no catch me again abi make I no come dis place come draw water again.”

¹⁶Jesus tell am, “Go, call your husband, and come back to dis place.”

¹⁷Di woman answer, “I no get husband.” Jesus tell am, “You talk am correct say you no get husband.

¹⁸Because you don marry five husband finish, and di man wey you get now no be your husband. Na true you talk.”

¹⁹Di woman tell am, “Oga, I see say you be prophet. ²⁰Our papa dem worship for dis mountain, but una dey talk say na Jerusalem be di place wey person suppose worship.”

²¹Jesus tell am, “Woman, believe me: time dey come wey una no go worship di Papa for dis mountain, and no be for Jerusalem too. ²²Una dey worship wetin una no sabi; we dey worship wetin we sabi—na from di Jew people salvation dey come. ²³But time dey come, and e don even reach now, wey di true worshipper dem go worship di Papa for spirit and for truth—because na dis kind worshipper di Papa dey find. ²⁴Di Papa na spirit, and di people wey dey worship am must worship am for spirit and for truth.” ^b b v24 For dis whole passage Jesus dey teach about how to worship di Papa; di One wey im nature be spirit na di same Papa wey dey find true worshipper dem.

²⁵Di woman tell am, “I sabi say Messiah—di one wey dem dey call Christ—dey come. Wen im come, im go tell us everything.”

²⁶Jesus tell am, “Na me be am—di one wey dey talk wit you.”

²⁷Dat same time, im disciple dem come back, and dem surprise say im dey talk wit woman. But nobody talk, “Wetin you want?” abi, “Why you dey talk wit am?” ²⁸So di woman leave im water pot come go back to town, and im tell di people say, ²⁹“Come, make una see one man wey tell me everything wey I ever do. Abi dis one na di Christ?” ³⁰Dem comot for di town come dey come meet am.

³¹For dat same time, di disciple dem dey beg am, “Rabbi, chop small.”

³²But im tell dem, “I get food to chop wey una no sabi anything about.”

³³So di disciple dem begin dey ask demsef, “Abi person don bring am something to chop?”

³⁴Jesus tell dem, “My food na to do di wish of di One wey send me, and to finish im work. ³⁵No be una dey talk, ‘Na four month remain, den harvest go come’? Look, I dey tell una: raise una eye, look di farm dem—dem don white ready for harvest. ³⁶Already di person wey dey harvest dey collect im pay, dey gather fruit for life wey no dey end, so dat di one wey plant and di one wey harvest go fit rejoice together. ³⁷Because for here dis word na true: ‘Na one person dey plant and anoda person dey harvest.’ ³⁸I send una make una reap wetin una no work for. Samaria People Believe

³⁹Plenty Samaria people from dat town believe for am because of di woman testimony: “Im tell me everything wey I ever do.” ⁴⁰Wen di Samaria people come meet am, dem beg am make im stay wit dem; im stay two days. ⁴¹And plenty more people believe because of im word. ⁴²Dem tell di woman, “No be because of wetin you talk we take dey believe again—we don hear am wit our own ear, and we sabi say true-true dis man na di Savior of di whole world.”

Go Back to Galilee

⁴³After di two days, im comot for dia go Galilee. ⁴⁴(Because Jesus imsef don testify say prophet no dey get honour for im own hometown.). ⁴⁵Wen im reach Galilee, di Galilee people welcome am, because dem don see everything wey im do for Jerusalem for di feast—dem too bin go di feast. ⁴⁶Im come go Cana for Galilee again, di place wey im turn water to wine. One big government officer pikin dey sick for Capernaum. ⁴⁷Wen im hear say Jesus don come from Judea reach Galilee, im go meet am come beg am make im come down come heal im pikin, wey dey near to die.

⁴⁸So Jesus tell am, “If una no see sign and wonder, una no go ever believe.”

⁴⁹Di government officer tell am, “Oga, come down before my pikin die.”

⁵⁰Jesus tell am, “Go; your pikin go live.” Di man believe wetin Jesus tell am, come dey go.

⁵¹As im dey go down, im servant dem come meet am for road come tell am say im boy don dey live. ⁵²So im ask dem di hour wey di pikin start to better, and dem tell am, “Na yesterday for di seventh hour, di fever leave am.”
