Dem Raise Christ From Death

Some people dey talk say dead people no go rise again. Paul list di witnesses, then e follow dat denial reach im end: if Christ no rise, faith na waste and di dead don lost. But e rise, di first of many, and our Papa dey give body wey no dey rot.

Chapter 15.

My brothers and sisters, I dey remind una about di gospel wey I preach, wey una collect, and wey una still dey stand on top am. Na dis gospel dey save una, if una hold tight to di word wey I preach give una—except say na for nothing una believe.

Because I hand over give una as di most important thing wey I too collect: Christ die for our sins as di Scriptures talk, say dem bury am, say dem raise am up for di third day as di Scriptures talk, and say e show imsef to Cephas, den to di Twelve. After dat, e show imsef to pass 500 brothers and sisters at di same time; plenty of dem still dey alive, though some don sleep for death. Den e show imsef to James, den to all di apostles. And last of all, e show imsef to me too, like person wey dem born for di wrong time. Na me be di smallest one for di apostles, I no even fit to dem call me apostle, because I bin dey persecute di church of our Papa. Na by di grace of our Papa I be wetin I be, and im grace to me no waste. But I work hard pass all of dem—no be me sha, but na di grace of our Papa wey dey with me. So den, whether na me or na dem, na so we dey preach, and na so una believe.

If Dem No Bin Raise Christ

Now if dem dey proclaim say dem raise Christ from death, how some among una fit talk say resurrection of di dead no dey? If resurrection of di dead no dey, den dem no even raise Christ. And if dem no raise Christ, den our preaching na for nothing, and una faith too na for nothing. More dan dat, dem go find us as people wey dey lie witness about our Papa, because we bin testify about our Papa say na im raise Christ from death—but e no raise am, if e be say dem no dey truly raise di dead. Because if dem no dey raise di dead, den dem no even raise Christ. And if dem no raise Christ, una faith na waste; una still dey inside una sins. Den dose wey don sleep for death inside Christ too don lost. If na only for dis life we get hope for Christ, we suppose collect pity pass anybody wey dey alive.

But true-true, dem don raise Christ from death, di firstfruits of dose wey don sleep for death. Because since death come through one man, na through one man resurrection of di dead too dey come. Because as everybody dey die inside Adam, na so dem go make everybody dey alive inside Christ. But each one for im own turn: Christ, di firstfruits; den, wen e come, dose wey be im own. Den di end go come, wen e go hand over di kingdom to our Papa, wen e don finish all rule, authority, and power. a a v24 Wen everything don complete, di Pikin go put di whole kingdom back for di hand of our Papa — di goal of all things na di Papa imsef. Because e must rule until e don put all im enemies under im foot. Di last enemy wey e go destroy na death. Our Papa don put everything under di foot of di Pikin. But wen e talk say 'everything' dey under am, e clear say dat one no add our Papa, wey put everything under di Pikin. Wen everything don dey under am, di Pikin imsef go dey under di one wey put everything under am, so dat our Papa go be all in all. b b v28 Wen everything don finally comot back to di right place, di Pikin gladly take im place under our Papa, so dat our Papa be everything to everybody — di destination wey di whole story bin dey move go.

If no be so, wetin dose wey dem baptize for di dead go do? If dem no dey raise di dead at all, why dem go baptize for dem? c c v29 Nobody sabi di exact thing wey Paul dey talk about here; e use am as proof say even dose wey dey do am bin believe for resurrection. And as for us, why we dey put ourselves for danger every hour? I dey die every day—as true as di way I dey take pride for una, my brothers and sisters, for Christ Jesus our Oga. If na for ordinary human reason I fight wild beasts for Ephesus, wetin be my gain? If dem no dey raise di dead, "Make we chop and drink, because tomorrow we go die." No make dem deceive una: "Bad company dey spoil good character." Wake up well-well and stop to dey sin—some people no sabi our Papa; I dey talk dis one to shame una.

Di Body Wey our Papa Dey Give

But somebody go ask, "How dem dey raise di dead? Wetin kind body dem go come with?" You dis foolish person! Wetin you plant no dey come alive except e die first. Wen you plant, no be di body wey go come you dey plant, but ordinary seed, maybe wheat or something else. But our Papa dey give am di body wey e choose, and to each seed im own body. No be all flesh be di same: human being, animal, bird, fish, each one different. Heavenly bodies dey, and earthly bodies dey; di glory of di heavenly one na one kind, di glory of di earthly one na anoda kind. Di sun get im own shine, di moon get anoda one, di stars get anoda one—star different from star for shine.

Na so e be with di resurrection of di dead: di body wey dem plant fit rotten, dem raise am up wey e no fit rotten. Dem plant am for disgrace, dem raise am up for glory; dem plant am for weakness, dem raise am up for power. Dem plant am as natural body, dem raise am up as spiritual body. If natural body dey, spiritual body too dey. Na so dem write am: "Di first man, Adam, become living soul"; di last Adam become spirit wey dey give life. d d v45 Jesus na di "last Adam": for where di first Adam bring death give everybody, Jesus dey give life to all wey be im own. But no be di spiritual one come first, na di natural one, and after dat na di spiritual one. Di first man na from di dust of di ground; di second man na from heaven. Like di man of dust, na so dose wey dem make with dust be; like di man of heaven, na so dose wey dem make with heaven be. Just as we carry di image of di earthly man, na so we go carry di image of di heavenly man.

I dey tell una dis one, my brothers and sisters: flesh and blood no fit inherit di kingdom of our Papa, and di thing wey fit rotten no fit inherit di thing wey no fit rotten.

Listen, I dey tell una secret mystery: All of us no go sleep, but dem go change all of us. For one instant, for di blink of eye, for di last trumpet—e go sound, dem go raise di dead wey no fit die again, and dem go change us. Dis body wey fit rotten must wear di body wey no fit rotten, and dis body wey fit die must wear di body wey no fit die. Wen dis body wey fit rotten wear di body wey no fit rotten, and dis body wey fit die wear di body wey no fit die, den di thing wey dem write go come true: "Dem don swallow death inside victory. Where, death, na your victory? Where, death, na your sting?"

Di sting of death na sin, and di power of sin na di law. But make we thank our Papa! E dey give us di victory through our Oga Jesus Christ. So, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm, no let anything move una, dey overflow always for di work of di Oga, as una sabi say una labour for di Oga no be waste.
