Leviticus 25

25 ¹Our Papa talk to Moses for Mount Sinai, say:

E dey stretch di weekly sabbath reach di ground. ⁵No harvest wetin grow by itself, or gather grape from your vine wey you no cut; di land go get one year of complete rest. ⁶Di land im sabbath go feed una—you yourself, your man-servant and woman-servant, your hired hand, and di stranger wey dey stay with you, ⁷and for your animal dem and di bush animal wey dey your land—everything wey e produce go be food.

⁸“You go count seven sabbaths of years, seven times seven years, wey go make forty-nine years altogether. ⁹Blow di ram im horn well-well for di tenth day of di seventh month; for di Day of Atonement, sound am go round all your land. ¹⁰Make di fiftieth year holy: announce freedom for di land for everybody wey dey live inside. ¹³“For dis Year of Jubilee, each of una go return to una own property.

¹⁴“If you sell or buy from your neighbour, make una no cheat one anoda. ¹⁵Buy from your neighbour by di years since di jubilee; e dey sell to you by di years of harvest. ¹⁶Raise di price for plenty years, drop am for small years, because na number of harvest e dey sell you. ¹⁷Make una no do one anoda wrong, but una go fear una Papa, for I be una Papa.

¹⁸“Follow my laws, keep my rules, and obey dem, and una go live safe for di land. ¹⁹Di land go produce im fruit, and una go chop belleful come dwell inside am safe. ²⁰If una ask, ‘Wetin we go chop for di seventh year, since we no go plant or gather our produce?’ ²¹I go command my blessing on una for di sixth year, e go produce crop wey go do for three years. ²²Una go plant for di eighth year but una go still dey chop di old crop; until di ninth year im harvest come in, una go dey chop di old one.

²⁵“If your broda become poor come sell part of im land, di family-member wey dey closest to am go come buy-back wetin im broda sell. ^c c v25 Di closest family-redeemer na di family-member wey dey nearest, wey get di right and di duty to buy back property wey dem sell because of hard time. ²⁶If a man no get anybody to buy-back for am but e prosper come find enough to buy am back, ²⁷e go count di years since di sale, return di balance to di buyer, come return to im property. ²⁸But if e no get money to pay am back, wetin e sell go remain with di buyer until Jubilee; e go release den, and e go return to im property.

²⁹“If person sell house for city wey get wall, di right to buy-back go last full one year from di sale. For dat whole year di seller go keep dis right. ³⁰If dem no buy am back within full one year, di house wey dey di walled city go belong to di buyer forever, generation after generation; e no go release for di jubilee. ³¹House dem for village wey no get wall dey count like open field; dem fit buy dem back and dem go go free for Jubilee.

³²“Di Levite dem fit always buy-back di house dem for di Levite cities wey dem get. ³³If a Levite no buy am back, di house wey dem sell for im city go release for jubilee, because house dem for Levite cities na dem own property among Israel. ³⁴But di pasture field dem wey surround dem cities, dem no fit sell am; na dem own property forever.

Your Broda Wey Fall for Poverty

³⁵“If your broda become poor come no fit take care of imself among una, help am like stranger or person wey dey stay, so e go fit live among una. ³⁶No collect any interest or profit from am, but fear your Papa, so your broda go fit live for your side. ³⁷You no go lend am your money with interest or give am your food for profit. ³⁸I be una Papa, wey bring una comot from Egypt to give una Canaan and to be una Papa.

³⁹“If your broda wey dey your side become poor come sell imself to you, no make am work like slave. ⁴⁰E go dey with you like hired worker, like person wey dey stay, e go serve with you until di Jubilee Year. ⁴¹Den e and im children go go free from you, e go return to im family and to di property of im fathers. ⁴²Because dem be my servant, wey I bring comot from Egypt; dem no fit sell dem di way dem dey sell slave. ⁴³You no go rule over am with wickedness, but you go fear your Papa.

⁴⁴“As for your man-slave and woman-slave: una fit buy dem from di nations wey surround una. ⁴⁵Also buy from di stranger dem wey dey stay among una, and from dem families wey dey with una, wey dem born for una land; dem go become una property. ⁴⁶Una fit leave dem to una children as property wey dem go inherit, dey hold dem for life. ⁴⁷“If stranger or person wey dey stay among una prosper come your broda become poor for im side, come sell imself to di stranger or to a branch of di stranger im family, ⁴⁸dem fit buy am back after e don sell imself. One of im broda dem fit buy am back. ⁴⁹Im uncle or im cousin fit buy am back, or a close family-member from im people fit buy am back; or if e get money, e go buy imself back. ⁵⁰E and di one wey buy am go count from di year e sell imself reach di Jubilee; di price go follow di years, like di pay of hired worker. ⁵¹If plenty years still remain, e go pay back di correct portion of di money wey dem buy am, as im buy-back payment. ⁵²If na small years remain until Jubilee, e go calculate come pay back im buy-back price according to am. ⁵³E go dey with am like person wey dem hire year by year, dem no go rule over am with wickedness for your front. ⁵⁴If dem no buy am back dis way, e and im children go go free together for di Jubilee Year. ⁵⁵Israel people na my servant, wey I bring comot from Egypt.
