Luke 24

24 ¹For di first day of di week, wen morning just dey break, dem come reach di tomb, dey carry di sweet-smelling tin dem wey dem don ready. ²Dem see sey dem don roll di stone comot for di tomb, ³but wen dem enter, dem no see di body of di Lord Jesus. ⁴As dem still dey confuse about dis tin, na so two men just stand for dem side sharperly, wearing cloth wey dey shine well well. ⁵Fear catch dem, dem bow dem face reach ground. Di men ask dem, “Wetin make una dey find person wey dey alive for where dead people dey? ⁶E no dey here—E don rise! Remember wetin E tell una wen E still dey Galilee, ⁷sey dem must hand ova di Pikin of Man to sinful men, dem go nail am for cross, and E go rise for di third day.”

⁸Na so dem come remember im words, ⁹and wen dem comot for di tomb, dem tell di eleven and all di odas everytin. ¹⁰Na Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary di mama of James, and di oda women wey dey with dem tell di apostles dis tins. ¹¹But dis words be like yeye tori to dem, and dem no believe am. ¹²Peter come stand up run go di tomb; e bend down, e see only di linen cloth dem, den e go im house, dey wonder for wetin happen.

¹⁹E ask, “Which kind tins?” Dem tell am, “About Jesus of Nazareth—one prophet wey get power for wetin E do and wetin E talk, for di front of our Papa and all di people,

²⁰and how our chief priests and rulers hand am ova make dem sentence am to death, and dem nail am for cross. ²¹We bin dey hope sey na Im go redeem Israel. But on top all dis, na di third day be dis since dis tins happen. ²²Some women wey dey our side sef make us wonder—dem go di tomb early, ²³and wen dem no see im body, dem come back dey talk sey dem even see vision of angels wey talk sey E dey alive. ²⁴Some of our people wey dey with us go di tomb, and dem see am just as di women talk am, but dem no see Am.”

²⁵E tell dem, “Una no get sense reach, and una heart dey slow to believe all di tins wey di prophets talk! ²⁶No be sey e suppose happen sey di Christ go suffa dis tins bifor E go enter im glory?”

²⁷And E start from Moses go reach all di Prophets, E explain to dem for all di Scriptures everytin wey concern imsef.

²⁸As dem near di village wey dem dey go, E do like sey E wan waka pass go furda. ²⁹But dem beg am strong, “Stay with us—evening don near, di day don almost finish.” So E enter go stay with dem.

And E just disappear comot for dem front. ³²Dem talk to demsef, “No be our heart dey burn inside us as E dey talk to us for di road, as E dey open di Scriptures give us?” ³³For dat same hour, dem stand up, go back Jerusalem, and dem see di eleven and di people wey dey with dem, wey gada togeda, ³⁴dey talk, “True true, di Lord don rise, and E don show imsef to Simon!” ³⁵And dem tell wetin happen for di road, and how dem recognize am wen E break di bread.

Jesus Show Imsef to Im Own People

³⁶As dem dey talk dis tins, Jesus imsef come stand for dem middle and tell dem, “Peace dey with una!”

³⁷But dem shock and fear catch dem, and dem tink sey na spirit dem dey see.

³⁸And E tell dem, “Why una dey trouble, and why doubt dey rise for una heart? ³⁹Look my hand and my leg—na me be dis for real. Touch me and see: spirit no get flesh and bone, as una see sey I get.”

⁴⁰And wen E don talk dis, E show dem im hand and im leg.

⁴¹And as dem still no fit believe becos of di joy, and dem dey wonder, E tell dem, “Una get anytin here wey I fit chop?”

⁴²Dem give am piece of fish wey dem don roast, ⁴³and E take am chop for dem front.

⁴⁴E tell dem, “Na dis be wetin I tell una wen I still dey with una: everytin wey dem write about me for di Law of Moses, di Prophets, and di Psalms must happen finish.”

⁴⁵Den E open dem mind make dem fit understand di Scriptures,

⁴⁶and E tell dem, “Na so dem write am: di Christ must suffa and rise from di dead for di third day, ⁴⁷and sey dem go preach repentance for di forgiveness of sin for im name to all nations, dey start from Jerusalem. ⁴⁸Na una be di witness of dis tins. ⁴⁹See, I dey send di promise of my Papa on top una. Stay for di city until power from up-high go cova una like cloth.”

Di Papa Welcome Im Pikin
