Leviticus 13

13 ¹Our Papa tok to Moses and Aaron, say:

²"When person get swelling, rash, or bright spot for im skin wey turn to skin sickness, dem must bring am go meet Aaron the priest or one of im pikin dem wey be priest. ^a a v2 Di skin sickness wey dem tok about here no be di modern sickness wey dem dey call leprosy (Hansen sickness); e cover plenty kind skin, cloth, and surface tins wey dey spread and wey dey make person unclean for ceremony matter. ³Di priest go check di mark for di skin. If di hair wey dey inside don turn white and e dey look deeper pass di skin, na skin sickness wey dey spoil person; di priest go check am and talk say e no clean. ⁴But if di bright spot for im skin white, e no deep pass di skin, and im hair no turn white, di priest must keep di person one side for seven days. ⁵For di seventh day di priest go check am; if di mark no change or spread for di skin, e go keep am one side seven more days. ⁶For di seventh day di priest go check am again. If di sore don fade and e no spread for di skin, e go talk say e clean—na just rash. E go wash im cloth and e go clean. ⁷But if di rash spread for im skin afta e don show imsef to di priest make dem clean am, e must show imsef to di priest again. ⁸Di priest go check am: if di rash don spread for di skin, e go talk say e no clean—na skin sickness.

⁹"When skin sickness wey dey make person unclean show for person body, dem go bring am go meet di priest. ¹⁰Di priest go check am: if white swelling for di skin don turn di hair white, and raw flesh dey inside am. ¹¹Na old skin sickness wey no dey go; di priest go talk say e no clean. E no need keep am one side, since e don already no clean.

¹²"But if di sickness burst comot and cover all im skin, from head reach foot, everywhere di priest look, ¹³di priest go check am; if di sickness cover im whole body, e go talk say e clean—since e don all turn white, e clean. ¹⁴But for di day wey raw flesh show for im body, e go no clean. ¹⁵Di priest go see di raw flesh and talk say e no clean; di raw flesh no clean—na skin sickness. ¹⁶But if di raw flesh change and turn white, e go come meet di priest. ¹⁷Di priest go check am; if di mark don turn white, e go talk say e clean—e clean.

¹⁸"When person get boil for im skin and e heal, ¹⁹if white swelling or bright spot wey be red-white show for di boil place, make e show am to di priest. ²⁰Di priest go check am; if e dey look lower pass di skin and di hair don turn white, e go talk say e no clean—na skin sickness don burst comot for di boil. ²¹But if di priest no see white hair inside am, e no dey below di skin, and e don fade, e go keep am one side seven days. ²²If e spread more for di skin, di priest go talk say e no clean; na sickness. ²³But if di bright spot stay for one place, e no spread, na di scar of di boil, and di priest must talk say e clean.

²⁴"Or when fire burn skin, and di raw flesh for di burn place turn to bright spot wey be red-white or white, ²⁵di priest go check am: if di hair for di bright spot don turn white and e dey look deeper pass di skin, na skin sickness don burst comot for di burn place—e go talk say e no clean; na skin sickness. ²⁶If di priest check am and e no see white hair for di bright spot, and e no deep pass di skin but e don fade, e go keep am one side seven days. ²⁷For day seven di priest go check am. If e spread for di skin, di priest go talk say e no clean—na skin sickness wey dey make person unclean. ²⁸But if di bright spot stay for im place, e no spread for di skin, and e don fade, na di swelling of di burn; di priest go talk say e clean—na only di scar of di burn.

²⁹"When man or woman get mark for head or for beard, ³⁰di priest go check di mark; if e deeper pass di skin, with thin yellow hair, e go talk say dem no clean—na itch, skin sickness of di head or beard. ³¹But if di priest check di itch mark and e no look deeper pass di skin and e no get black hair inside am, di priest go keep di person one side seven days. ³²For di seventh day di priest go check di mark: if di itch no spread, e no get yellow hair, and e no look deeper pass di skin. ³³Di man go shave, but no di sore area; di priest go keep am one side another seven days. ³⁴For di seventh day di priest go check di itch. If e no spread for di skin and e no look deeper pass di skin, di priest go talk say e clean. E go wash im cloth and e go clean. ³⁵But if di itch spread more for di skin afta dem don clean am, ³⁶di priest go check am; if di itch don spread for di skin, di priest no need look for yellow hair—di man no clean. ³⁷But if di priest see say e no change, with black hair don grow inside am, e don heal; e clean—di priest go talk say e clean.

³⁸"When man or woman get white bright spot dem for dia skin, ³⁹di priest go check dem; if di bright spot dem for dia skin na dull white, na rash wey no get wahala wey burst comot for di skin; e clean.

⁴⁰"When man loss di hair for im head, e don bald, but e clean. ⁴¹If hair fall from di front of im head, im forehead don bald, but e clean. ⁴²But if red-white sore dey for im bald head or forehead, na skin sickness dey burst comot for im bald head or forehead. ⁴³Di priest go check am; if red-white swelling dey for im bald head or forehead, like skin sickness for di body skin. ⁴⁴Man wey get skin sickness no clean; di priest must talk say e no clean, im mark dey for im head.

⁴⁵"Anybody wey get di skin sickness must wear cloth wey don tear, make im hair hang loose, cover im top lip, and cry, ‘E no clean, e no clean!’ ^b b v45 To cover di top lip na ancient sign of mourning and of say dem don cut person comot from di community. ⁴⁶As long as di mark still dey, e no clean—e no clean; e must stay alone, outside di camp.

Mold for Cloth

⁴⁷"When cloth get mark of mold inside am, whether na wool or linen cloth, ⁴⁸for fabric of linen or wool, wey dem weave or knit, or for leather or anytin wey dem make with leather, ⁴⁹if mark for cloth, leather, warp, or weft, or any leather tin, dey greenish or reddish, na mold and dem must show am to di priest. ⁵⁰Di priest go check di mark and keep di tin wey get am one side seven days. ⁵¹For di seventh day e go check di mark. If e don spread for di cloth, warp or weft, or for leather or anytin wey dem make with leather, na mold wey dey spoil tin—e no clean. ⁵²Burn di cloth—warp or weft, wool or linen—or any leather tin wey get di mark, because na mold wey dey spoil tin; burn am inside fire.

⁵³"But if di priest check am and di sore no spread for di cloth, or warp, or weft, or any leather tin, ⁵⁴di priest go order say make dem wash di tin wey get di mark, and keep am one side another seven days. ⁵⁵Afta dem don wash di fabric wey get di mark, di priest go check am. If di look of di mark no change, even though e no spread, e no clean. Burn am inside fire—na spot wey dey eat tin, whether inside or outside. ⁵⁶If di priest see say di mark don fade afta dem wash am, e must tear am comot from di cloth, leather, or di tin wey dem weave or knit. ⁵⁷If e show again for di cloth, wey dem weave or knit, or any leather, e dey spread; burn wetin get di mark inside fire. ⁵⁸But if di mark comot from di cloth, warp, weft, or leather tin wey you wash, wash am again—e clean.

⁵⁹"Na dis be di law for mold mark for wool or linen cloth, warp or weft, or any leather tin—to talk say e clean or e no clean."
