Dem Call Am From di Womb

The servant wey our Papa name from womb confess say e don labor for nothing, and dem give am bigger work: light to the nations. When Zion talk say dem don forget her, the answer na mama wey dey breastfeed wey no fit forget, and hand dem wey her name cut inside.

Chapter 49.

Make una listen to me, una coastlands; una people wey dey far, pay attention. Our Papa call me—Jesus—from di womb; from inside my mama belle he give me my name. a a v1 Di Servant wey dey talk for dis chapter na Jesus — di New Testament take dis verses put am directly for am (Luke 2:32; Acts 13:47). He make my mouth like sharp sword; for inside di shadow of im hand he hide me. He make me arrow wey dem polish sharp sharp; for inside im quiver he hide me.

And he tell me sey, “You be my servant—Jesus, di true Israel—na through you I go show my glory.”

But I talk sey, “I don work tire for notin; I don spend my strength for notin, e no bring anytin. But for true, my justice dey with my Papa, and my reward dey with my Papa.”

And now our Papa talk—him wey mold me from di womb make I be im servant, make I bring Jacob come back to am, make dem gather Israel come to am, for I get honor for im eyes, and my Papa don become my strength,

he talk sey: “E be too small tin for you to just be my servant wey go raise up di tribes of Jacob and bring back dem wey remain for Israel; I go also make you light for di nations, so that my salvation go reach di ends of di earth.” b b v6 Simeon carry baby Jesus for hand and call am “light for di nations” (Luke 2:32), and Paul take dis same word put am for im mission to di Gentiles (Acts 13:47). Na dis our Papa talk, di Redeemer of Israel, im Holy One, to di one wey dem despise well well, wey di nation hate, to di servant of dem wey dey rule: Kings go see am and stand up; princes go bow down, because of your Papa wey dey faithful, di Holy One of Israel, wey don choose you.

Covenant for di People

Na dis our Papa talk: For time of favor I answer you, and for day of salvation I help you; I go keep you and give you as Covenant for di people, to fix back di land, to share di inheritances wey don become waste, wey dey tell di prisoners sey, ‘Comot,’ and to dem wey dey inside darkness sey, ‘Show una sef.’ Along di roads dem go chop, and for all di bare hills na so dem go find grass chop.

Hunger no go catch dem, thirst no go catch dem, hot wind or sun no go beat dem, for di one wey im belle dey pain am for dem go lead dem, and na for di springs of water he go guide dem. And I go turn all my mountains make dem be road, and my highways go dey raised up. See—dese ones go come from far; and see, dese from di north and di west, and dese from di land of Sinim. c c v12 Sinim na land wey dey far well well, e most likely na Syene (wey be Aswan for now) for southern Egypt — e dey name di far corner wey our Papa children dey come back from. Sing with joy, una heavens, and make merry, earth; burst into song, una mountains! For our Papa don comfort im people, and im belle dey pain am for im people wey dey suffer.

But Zion talk sey, “Our Papa don forsake me; di Oga-Papa don forget me.”

“Woman fit forget di pikin wey she dey breastfeed, so that her belle no go pain am for di pikin wey she born? Even if dese ones fit forget, I no go ever forget you. d d v15 Among all di verses wey dey show our Papa heart, dis one dey among di ones wey soft pass. Even di most faithful mama love fit fail — but our Papa own no go ever fail. See—I don carve you for di palm of my hands; your walls dey always before me. Your children dey rush come back; dem wey break you down and turn you to waste dey comot from you. Look around you and see: all of dem gather and dey come to you. As I dey alive so, na so our Papa talk, you go wear all of dem like ornament; you go tie dem on like bride. For true, your ruins and your desolate places and your land wey dem don destroy—for true now di place go too small for di people wey dey live for inside you, and dem wey swallow you go dey far. Di children wey you born for di time wey you dey mourn go still talk for your ears sey, “Dis place too small for me; make space make I fit live.” Then you go talk for your mind sey, “Na who born dese for me? I bin lose my children and I no fit born, dem carry me go exile and throway me—na who raise dese? Dem leave me all alone; na where dese come from?”

Na dis di Oga-Papa talk: See—I go lift up my hand to di nations and I go raise my signal to di people; and dem go carry your sons for dem arms bring come, and dem go carry your daughters for dem shoulder. Kings go be di papa wey go take care of you, and dem queens go be di mama wey go breastfeed you. With dem face for ground dem go bow down to you and lick di dust for your feet. Then you go know sey I be your Papa; dem wey dey wait for me no go shame.”

Dem fit collect di loot from di strong man, or dem fit rescue di captives wey di wicked ruler catch?

But na dis our Papa talk: Even di captives of di strong man, dem go collect dem, and di loot of di wicked ruler, dem go rescue am; for na me myself go fight against dem wey dey fight you, and I go save your children. I go make dem wey dey oppress you chop dem own flesh, and dem go drunk with dem own blood like sey na sweet wine. Then all flesh go know sey I be your Savior—your Papa—and your Redeemer, di Mighty One of Jacob.
