Mark 11

11 ¹As dem dey near Jerusalem, for Bethphage and Bethany wey dey by di Mount of Olives, Jesus send two of im disciples go front,

²e tell dem, “Go enter di village wey dey your front, and as you just enter am, you go see one young donkey wey dem tie, wey person never ride before. Untie am bring am come here.”

³If anybody ask you, ‘Wetin make you dey do dis?’ tell am, ‘Na di Lord need am, and e go send am come back here sharp-sharp.’

⁴Dem go and dem see one young donkey wey dem tie for doorway outside for di street, and dem untie am. ⁵Some of di people wey stand dere ask dem, “Wetin una dey do, wey una dey untie dat young donkey?” ⁶Dem answer as Jesus don tell dem, and di people leave dem make dem go. ⁷Dem bring di young donkey come Jesus, and dem throw dem cloth put on top am, and e sit down on top am. ⁸Plenty people spread dem cloth for di road; oda people spread branch wey get leaf wey dem cut from di field. ⁹Di people wey dey go front and di people wey dey follow behind dey shout, “Hosanna! Blessing dey for di one wey dey come for di name of our Papa! ¹⁰Blessing dey for di kingdom wey dey come, di kingdom of our papa David! Hosanna for di highest place!”

¹¹Jesus enter Jerusalem and enter di temple, e look everything wey dey dere, and—since e don late already—e comot go Bethany with di Twelve.

Jesus Curse Di Fig Tree

¹²Di next day, as dem dey comot from Bethany, hunger dey catch Jesus. ¹³As e see one fig tree wey get leaf for far, e go check whether e get anytin on top am. As e reach dere, e see notin but leaf, because e no be fig season.

¹⁴Den e tell am, “Make nobody ever chop fruit from you again.” Im disciples hear am as e talk am.

Jesus Clean Im Papa House

¹⁵Dem reach Jerusalem, and Jesus enter di temple and start to dey drive comot di people wey dey sell and di people wey dey buy for dere. E turn upside down di table of di people wey dey change money and di seat of di people wey dey sell dove, ¹⁶and e no gree make anybody carry goods pass through di temple compound.

¹⁷And e teach dem, e talk say, “Dem no write am say: ‘My house go be house of prayer for all di nations’? But una don turn am to hideout for tiff people.”

¹⁸Di chief priests and di scribes hear dis, and dem dey find way to kill am, because dem dey fear am, since di whole crowd dey wonder for im teaching.

¹⁹And when evening reach, dem comot from di city.

²⁰For morning, as dem dey pass, dem see di fig tree wey don dry from di root. ²¹Peter remember and tell am, “Rabbi, look! Di fig tree wey you curse don dry.”

Na Who Authority?

²⁷Dem go back Jerusalem. As Jesus dey waka for di temple, di chief priests, di scribes, and di elders come meet am, ²⁸and dem ask, “Na by which authority you dey do dis? Or na who give you dis authority to do am?”

²⁹Jesus tell dem, “I go ask una one question. Answer me, and I go tell una na by which authority I dey do dis tins. ³⁰John baptism—e come from heaven, or na from man e come? Answer me.”

³¹Dem dey argue am among demsef: “If we talk say, ‘E come from heaven,’ e go ask, ‘Den why una no believe am?’ ³²But if we talk say, ‘Na from man e come’”—dem dey fear di crowd, because everybody count John as true prophet.

³³Dem answer Jesus, “We no know.” Jesus talk, “Den I too no go tell una na by which authority I dey do dis tins.”
