Daniel 4

4 ¹King Nebuchadnezzar, to all di people, nations, and languages wey dey live for di whole earth: Make una peace multiply.

²I dey happy to talk di signs and wonders wey di Most High God don do for me. ³How great im signs be, and how mighty im wonders be! Im kingdom na kingdom wey no dey end, and im rule dey from generation reach generation.

⁴Me, Nebuchadnezzar, I dey rest for my house and I dey flourish for my palace. ⁵I see one dream wey make me fear; di thoughts for my bed and di visions for my head make me shake. ⁶So I order say make dem bring all di wise men of Babylon come my front make dem tell me wetin di dream mean. ⁷Den di magicians, di enchanters, di Babylonians, and di astrologers enter. I tell dem di dream, but dem no fit interpret am for me. ⁸Last last Daniel come my front—dem call am Belteshazzar after di name of my god, and di spirit of di holy gods dey inside am—and I tell am di dream. ⁹Belteshazzar, chief magician, I know say di spirit of di holy gods dey inside you, and no mystery dey too hard for you—tell me di visions of my dream wey I see, and wetin dem mean. ¹⁰Di visions for my mind while I dey for bed: I see one tree for di middle of di earth, wey tall well well. ¹¹Di tree grow and become strong, and im top reach heaven, and dem fit see am reach di ends of di whole earth. ¹²Im leaves fine and im fruit plenty, and food for everybody dey inside am. Wild animals dey find shade under am, and di birds of di heavens dey live for im branches, and everything wey get body dey chop from am.

¹³For my visions while I dey for bed I see one watcher, one holy one, dey come down from heaven. ^a a v13 A "watcher" na one of God im holy angels, wey dem send here to carry out di decree over di king — one messenger from heaven, no be God imsef.

¹⁴E shout: Cut di tree down, chop im branches, comot im leaves, scatter im fruit. Make di dew of heaven soak am, and make im portion dey with di wild animals for inside di grass of di earth. ¹⁶Make dem comot im human mind and give am di mind of animal, and make seven times of season pass over am. ¹⁷Dis judgement na by di decree of di watchers, di decision na by di word of di holy ones, so dat di living fit know say di Most High dey rule over di kingdom of men and dey give am to whoever e want and dey put di lowest of men over am.'

¹⁸Na dis dream me, King Nebuchadnezzar, see. Tell me wetin e mean, Belteshazzar, because di wise men of my kingdom no fit explain am, but you fit—di spirit of di holy gods dey inside you.

Daniel Talk di Hard Truth

¹⁹Den Daniel, wey dem call Belteshazzar, dey confuse for small time, and im thoughts make am fear. Di king talk say, "Belteshazzar, no make di dream or wetin e mean make you fear." Belteshazzar answer say, "My oga, make di dream be for di people wey hate you, wetin e mean for your enemies!"

²⁰Di tree wey you see grow strong, im top dey reach heaven, everybody for di earth dey see am, ²¹im leaves fine, im fruit plenty, food for everybody—wild animals dey live under am, di birds of di sky dey make nest for im branches. ²²Na you, king—you don grow and become strong; your greatness don grow, e dey reach heaven, your rule reach di ends of di earth.

²³Because di king see one watcher, one holy one, come down from heaven, dey talk say: Cut di tree down, destroy am—but leave di stump of im roots for di ground, tie am with band of iron and bronze for inside di grass of di field. Make di dew of heaven soak am; im portion with di wild animals, until seven times of season pass over am. ²⁴Na dis be di meaning, my king: di decree of di Most High don come on my oga di king, ²⁵dem go drive you comot from di people make you live among wild animals, you go dey chop grass like cow, di dew of heaven go soak you, until seven times pass over you and you know say di Most High dey rule di kingdom of men, dey give am to whoever e choose. ²⁶Di command say make dem leave di stump and im roots for di ground: dem go give your kingdom back to you once you know say na Heaven dey rule. ²⁷So, king, accept my advice: comot from your sins through correct-and-holy way, and from your wrongdoing through mercy to di poor, so dat your prosperity fit continue.

Dem Bring Pride Come Down

²⁸All dis one come happen to King Nebuchadnezzar. ²⁹Twelve months after, e dey waka for di roof of di royal palace of Babylon.

³⁰Di king talk say, "No be dis great Babylon wey I build as royal house with my mighty power, for di glory of my majesty?"

³¹Di words still dey for di king mouth when one voice fall from heaven: "King Nebuchadnezzar, na dis dem talk give you: di kingdom don comot from you. ³²Dem go drive you comot from di people, you go dey live with wild animals, you go dey chop grass like cow. Seven times of season go pass over you, until you know say di Most High dey rule di kingdom of men and dey give am to whoever e want."

³³Sharp sharp di word come true against Nebuchadnezzar: dem drive am comot from di people, e chop grass like cattle, di dew of heaven soak im body, until im hair grow like eagle feathers, im nails like bird claw.

God Bring Nebuchadnezzar Back and Humble Am

³⁴When di days end, me, Nebuchadnezzar, I raise my eyes go heaven, and my sense come back. I bless di Most High, I praise and honour di One wey dey live forever, wey im rule no dey end, wey im kingdom cover every generation.

³⁵All di people wey dey live for di earth na like nothing, and e dey do wetin e want among di host of heaven and among di people wey dey live for di earth; and nobody fit hold im hand back or talk to am say, "Wetin you do?"

³⁶Den my sense come back; my majesty and my splendour come back for di glory of my kingdom. My advisers and my nobles dey find me; dem restore me over my kingdom, and dem add greatness wey pass everything join me. ³⁷Now me, Nebuchadnezzar, I praise, I lift up, and I honour di King of Heaven, because all im works dey correct, im ways dey just; and dem wey dey waka for pride, e fit humble dem.
