Den our Papa talk say, “Make light dey,” and light come dey.

E see say di light good, and e separate di light from di darkness. E call di light “day” and call di darkness “night.” Evening come, and morning come—di first day.

And our Papa talk say, “Make one wide space dey between di waters to separate water from water.”

E make di wide space and separate di water wey dey under am from di water wey dey on top am. And e be so. E call di wide space “sky.” So evening come, and morning come—di second day.

Den our Papa talk say, “Make di water wey dey under di sky gather for one place, and make dry ground show.” And e be so.

E name di dry ground “land,” di water wey gather “seas.” And e see say e good.

Den e talk say, “Make di land grow green things: plants wey dey carry seed, fruit trees wey dey bear fruit wey get seed inside, each one after im kind.” And e be so.

Di land produce green things—plants wey dey carry seed after dem kind, and trees wey dey bear fruit wey get seed after dem kind—and our Papa see say e good. And evening come, and morning come—di third day.

And our Papa talk say, “Make lights dey for di wide space of di sky to separate day from night, and make dem be signs to mark seasons, days, and years, and make dem be lights for di wide space of di sky, to give light for di earth.” And e be so.

Our Papa make two big lights—di bigger light to rule di day, di smaller light to rule di night. E make di stars too. E put dem for di wide space of di sky to give light for di earth, to rule di day and di night, and to separate light from darkness. E see say e good. So evening come, and morning come—di fourth day.

Den our Papa talk say, “Make di water full with living things, and make birds fly for on top di earth, across di wide space of di sky.”

So e create di big sea creatures, every living thing wey dey move and full di water after im kind, and every bird wey get wing after im kind. And e see say e good.

Our Papa bless dem and talk say, “Born plenty, multiply, full di waters for di seas, and make birds multiply for earth.”

And evening come, and morning come—di fifth day.

And our Papa talk say, “Make di land produce living things after dem kind: animals wey people dey keep, things wey dey crawl, and wild animals, each one after im kind.” And e be so.

E make wild animals after dem kind, animals wey people dey keep after dem kind, and every creature wey dey crawl for ground after im kind. And e see say e good.

Den our Papa talk say, “Make we make human being for our image, for our likeness, make dem rule di fish of di sea, di birds of di sky, di animals wey people dey keep, di whole earth, and every creature wey dey crawl for ground.” ^b

So our Papa create human being for dem own image; for di image of di Papa, di Pikin, and the Holy Spirit e create dem; man and woman e create dem. ^c

Our Papa bless dem and talk to dem say, “Born plenty, multiply, full di earth and rule am. Rule di fish of di sea, di birds of di sky, and every living creature wey dey move for di earth.” Den e talk say, “I give una every plant wey dey carry seed for di whole earth, and every tree wey get fruit wey carry seed—dem go be una food. For every animal of di earth, every bird of di sky, everything wey dey crawl for ground wey get breath of life, I give every green plant for food.” And na so e happen.

Our Papa see everything wey e don make, and e good well well. So evening come, and morning come—di sixth day.
