Luke 12

⁶Dem no dey sell five sparrow for two small coin? But our Papa no dey forget even one of dem. ^a a v6 An assarion na small copper coin wey no cost anything—two of dem fit buy five sparrow. ⁷But even di hair wey dey una head, dem don count all of dem. No fear—una worth pass plenty sparrow.

⁸“And I dey tell una, anybody wey confess Me for front of oda pipo, di Pikin of Man go also confess am for front of di angels of our Papa. ⁹But anybody wey deny Me for front of oda pipo, dem go deny am for front of di angels of our Papa. ¹⁰Anybody wey talk word against di Pikin of Man, dem go forgive am, but anybody wey blaspheme against di Holy Spirit, dem no go forgive am. ¹¹Wen dem bring una come front of synagogue, and rulers, and pipo wey get authority, no worry yourself how una go defend una self or wetin una go talk, ¹²because di Holy Spirit go teach una for dat same hour wetin una suppose talk.”

Di Foolish Man Wey Forget Our Papa

¹³Somebody for inside di crowd tell Am, “Teacher, tell my broda make e share di inheritance wit me.”

¹⁴But Jesus tell am, “Man, na who make Me judge or di one wey go settle mata between una?” ¹⁵E tell dem, “Open una eye well-well! Guard against every kind greedy heart, because pesin life no dey come from di property wey e get, no matter how e plenty reach.”

¹⁶And E tell dem one parable: “One rich man land bring plenty good harvest.

I no get place to keep my crops.’ ¹⁸So e talk, ‘Na so I go do am: I go pull down my barn, build bigger ones, and keep all my grain and my property for dia.’ ¹⁹And I go tell my soul, “Soul, you get plenty thing wey you don keep for many years—rest, chop, drink, enjoy life.”’

²⁰But our Papa tell am, ‘Foolish man! Dis night dem go demand your soul back from you. Then di things wey you don prepare, na who own e go be?’ ²¹Na so e go be for anybody wey dey pile up treasure for imsef but no rich for front of our Papa.”

Our Papa Know Wetin You Need

²²Then Jesus tell im disciples, “Na why I dey tell una: no worry about una life—wetin una go chop—or about una body—wetin una go wear. ²³Because life pass food, and di body pass cloth. ²⁴Look di raven: dem no dey plant or harvest, dem no get store or barn, but our Papa dey feed dem. See how una worth pass birds well-well! ²⁵Which one of una fit add even one hour to im life by worrying? ²⁶Since una no fit do dis small thing, why una dey worry about di rest? ²⁷Look how di lily flower dey grow: dem no dey work, dem no dey spin thread. But I dey tell una, even Solomon wit all im fine-fine glory no dress like one of dem. ²⁸If na so our Papa dey dress di grass for di field—wey dey here today, and tomorrow dem throway am inside fire—how much more E go dress una, una wey get small faith?

²⁹No dey find wetin una go chop or wetin una go drink, and no let una mind dey worry. ³⁰Because na dis kind things all di nations of di world dey find; but your Papa know say una need dem. ³¹Instead, find di kingdom of our Papa first, and dem go give una all dis oda things join.

³²“No fear, una small flock, because e make your Papa happy to give una di kingdom. ³³Sell una property and give am to poor pipo. Make purse for una self wey no go tear—treasure wey no go finish for heaven, wia thief no dey near and moth no dey spoil am. ³⁴Because wia your treasure dey, na dia your heart go dey too.

Ready Yourself Wen Di Master Go Come Back

³⁵“Dress well and ready for service, and make una lamp continue to burn, ³⁶like servants wey dey wait for dia master to come back from di wedding feast, so dat wen e come and knock, dem go open di door sharp-sharp. ³⁷Blessing dey for di servants wey di master go meet dey watch wen e come. True-true I dey tell una, e go dress imsef for service, make dem sidon for di table, and come serve dem. ³⁸Weda e come for midnight or just before morning, blessing dey for dose servants if e meet dem ready. ³⁹Sabi dis thing: if di owner of di house know wetin hour di thief go come, e no for allow dem break inside im house. ⁴⁰Una too suppose ready—di Pikin of Man dey come for hour wey una no expect.”

⁴¹Peter talk, “Oga, na for us You dey tell dis parable, or na for everybody?”

⁴²Di Oga answer, “Who be di faithful, wise manager wey di master go put in charge of im house servants, to give dem dia food for di right time? ⁴³Blessing dey for dat servant wey im master go meet dey do so wen e come back. ⁴⁴True-true I dey tell una, e go put am in charge of all im property. ⁴⁵But if dat servant tell imsef, ‘My master dey slow to come,’ and e start to dey beat di oda servants, di men and di women, and e dey chop, drink, and dey drunk. ⁴⁶Di master of dat servant go come for day wey e no expect, for hour wey e no know, cut am into two, and put am for place among pipo wey no dey faithful. ⁴⁷Di servant wey know im master wish but no prepare or do wetin im master want go collect plenty beating. ⁴⁸But di one wey no know, but still do wetin deserve punishment, go collect small beating. Anybody wey dem give plenty, na plenty dem go ask am; di one wey dem trust wit plenty, na even more dem go ask am.

Di Pikin Bring Fire, No Be Peace
