Di Kingdom of our Papa Get Ear to Hear
As im dey teach from inside boat, Jesus tell how our Papa kingdom dey come: seed wey fall for road, for rock, for thorn and for good ground, lamp, corn wey dey grow while di farmer dey sleep, mustard seed. Then im calm one storm wey im disciples sure say go drown dem.
4 1Jesus teach again for beside di sea. Plenty-plenty crowd gada round am reach so tey e enta boat wey dey for di water come sidon, while di whole crowd dey for land for beside di sea. 2E teach dem plenty tins for parable, and as e dey teach, e tell dem sey:
3“Hear-o! One farmer waka go plant seed. 4As e dey plant, some seed fall for di road, and bird come chop am finish. 5Oda seed fall for stony ground, wey no get plenty sand, and e sprout sharp-sharp sote di sand no deep. 6But wen sun rise, di plant burn, and sotay e no get root, e dry die. 7Oda seed fall inside thorn, and di thorn grow up come choke am, so e no bring grain. 8Oda seed fall inside good sand, come bring grain wey sprout, grow, and yield thirty, sixty, one hundred times pass wetin dem plant.” 9And e sey, “Whoever wey get ear to hear, make e hear.”
10Wen e dey im one, dem wey dey with am, plus di Twelve, ask am about di parable dem.
11E tell dem, “Na una dem don give di secret of di kingdom of our Papa, but for dem wey dey outside, everytin dey come for parable, 12so dat ‘dem go look but no go see well, and hear but no go understand, and dem no go turn come make dem forgive dem.’”
13E tell dem, “Una no understand dis parable? Then how una go take understand all di parable dem? 14Di farmer dey plant di word. 15Dis na di ones for di road wey dem plant di word: as dem hear am, Satan come sharp-sharp come carry di word wey dem plant inside dem comot. 16Dis na di ones wey dem plant for stony ground, wey dey hear di word and dey receive am sharp-sharp with joy. 17But dem no get root inside dem, dem last small time rep; wen wahala or persecution come becos of di word, dem fall comot sharp-sharp. 18And oda ones na di ones wey dem plant inside thorn. Dis na dem wey dey hear di word, 19but di worry of dis world, di deceit of money, and di desire for oda tins enta come choke di word, and e no dey bring fruit. 20And dis na di ones wey dem plant for good sand: dem dey hear di word, dey accept am, and dey bring fruit—thirty, sixty, one hundred times over.”
Dem Make Light to Shine
21E tell dem, “Person dey bring lamp come put am under basket or under bed—no be say na for stand? 22Notin dey hide wey dem no go show; notin dey secret wey no go come out. 23If anybody get ear to hear, make e hear.”
24E tell dem, “Watch wetin una dey hear. Di measure wey una dey use, na so dem go take measure give una—and dem go add more. 25For whoever wey get, dem go give am more; whoever wey no get, even di small wey e get, dem go collect am comot for am.”
Di Seed Dey Grow by Imsef
26E sey, “Na so di kingdom of our Papa be: man scatter seed for ground. 27Night and day, weda e dey sleep or e wake, di seed dey sprout and dey grow, even doh e no sabi how. 28Di sand dey bring grain by imsef—first na blade, then na head, then na full grain inside di head. 29But wen di grain don ripe, e go sharp-sharp send di cutlass, becos harvest don reach.”
Di Mustard Seed
30E sey, “Wetin we fit take compare di kingdom of our Papa to, or wetin parable we fit use for am? 31E be like mustard seed, wey be di smallest for all di seed dem wen dem plant am for ground. 32But once dem plant am, e dey grow up come be di biggest for all di garden plant, dey bring branch wey big sote bird of di air fit build nest inside im shade.”
33With plenty parable like dis e talk di word give dem, as dem fit take hear am. 34E no dey talk to dem except for parable, but wen dem dey dem one, e dey explain everytin give im own disciple dem.
Jesus Calm di Storm
35For dat day, wen evening reach, e tell dem, “Make we cross go di oda side.”
36Dem leave di crowd come carry am go, just as e dey, inside di boat, and oda boat dey follow am. 37Serious windstorm come rise. Wave dey break enta di boat, sotay water don dey full am. 38But Jesus dey sleep for di back of di boat for on top di pillow. Dem wake am and sey, “Teacher, e no dey worry you sey we dey die?”
39E stand up, talk hard to di wind, and tell di sea, “Peace! Keep quiet!” Di wind stop, and everywhere calm well-well. 40E tell dem, “Why una dey fear so? Una still no get faith?”
41Fear catch dem well-well and dem ask each oda, “Who den be dis, wey even di wind and di sea dey obey am?”
