Chapter 3.

Prayer wey Habakkuk di prophet pray, for Shigionoth. a a v1 Shigionoth: e fit be one kind free-flow music style wey full of feeling; dem write dis prayer make dem sing am. Our Papa, I don hear di tori about you, and I dey stand for wonder. Our Papa, put life back inside your work for our own time; for our own time make e show; even for vex, remember mercy. b b v2 Habakkuk dey beg our Papa make e remember im heart of tender mercy wey dey pain belle — di deep love wey papa dey feel for im pikin. Under every cry for mercy, na cry make our Papa im heart turn come us dey there. Our Papa comot from Teman, di Holy One from Mount Paran. Im shine-shine cover di heavens, and di earth full with im praise. Im brightness be like di light; ray dey flash comot for im hand; and na for there im power hide. Before am, sickness dey waka go; and plague dey follow for im foot. E stand and shake di earth; e look and make di nations dey shake. Di mountains wey dey forever scatter; di hills wey dey stand for ever go down low. Im way na from way-back. I see di tents of Cushan wey dey for suffer; di curtains of di land of Midian dey shake. Your vex, na against di rivers e be, our Papa? Your anger, na against di rivers, abi your fury na against di sea, wen you ride on top your horses, on top your chariots of salvation? You bring out your bow; you call for plenty arrows. You split di earth open with rivers. Di mountains see you and dem dey twist for pain; di raging waters rush pass; di deep raise up im voice and lift im hand go high. Di sun and di moon stand still for their high place, for di light of your arrows wey dey fly fast, for di flash of your spear wey dey shine. For fury you waka pass through di earth; for anger you grind di nations like corn. You comot go save your people, go save di one wey you don anoint. You crush di head of di house of di wicked one, strip am bare from head go im toe. With im own arrows you pierce di head of im soldiers, wey come rush comot to scatter me, dey laugh like say dem wan chop di poor for secret. You trample di sea with your horses, di mighty waters wey dey rush up. I hear, and my body begin shake; my lips dey shiver for di sound; rotten thing creep enter my bones, and my legs dey shake under me. But still, I go wait quiet for di day of trouble to come on top di people wey dey attack us.

Even if di fig tree no flower, and no fruit dey for di vines; even if di olive harvest fail, and di farms no bring food; even if no flock dey inside di pen, and no cattle dey inside di stall, still, I go rejoice for our Papa; I go take joy for di Papa of my salvation. Papa wey be Oga over all na my strength; e dey make my feet like deer own; e dey make me waka on top di high places. To di choir leader: with my string instruments. c c v19 "To di choir leader: with my string instruments" na direction for how to perform am, wey show say dem compose dis prayer for di temple choir.
