Ecclesiastes 4

Book

Tears Wey No Get Person Wey Go Comfort Am

Di Teacher see oppression wey nobody dey comfort, and e talk say di dead better pass di living. Na jealousy dey push most work. But two better pass one: person wey go lift you when you fall, keep you warm, stand with you. Even king wey people like, dem go soon no want am again.

Chapter 4.

Again I look and I see all di wickedness wey dem dey do people for under di sun: di people wey dem dey oppress dey cry, and nobody dey to comfort dem; di people wey dey oppress dem hold di power, and still nobody dey to comfort dem. So I talk sey di dead people, wey don already die, dey happy pass di people wey still dey alive. But di pesin wey dem never born sef better pass di two of dem, di one wey never see di evil wey dem dey do for under di sun. I see sey all di hard work and skill dey come from how one neighbor dey envy anoda one. Dis one too na wind wey dey pass, na to dey run afta breeze. Di foolish pesin fold im hand and spoil imsef. One handful wey get peace better pass two handful wey get plenty suffer and to dey run afta breeze.

Again I see anoda thing wey dey pass like wind for under di sun:

One man wey dey im one, no companion, no pikin or broda; im work no get end, but im eye no dey ever satisfy with money. “Na who I dey work for,” im ask, “wey make I dey deny mysef better thing?” Dis one too na breath—na bad work.

Two pesin better pass one, becos dem dey get better reward for dia work: If one fall, di oda one go lift am up. But e go pain for di one wey fall im one, wey nobody dey to help am rise. Also, if two lie down togeda, dem body go warm. But how one pesin go warm im body wey e dey im one? Dem fit overpower one pesin wey dey im one; but two fit stand gidigba. Rope wey dem take three strand weave no dey quick to cut.

Di Wise Young Pesin and Di Foolish King

Poor young pesin wey get wisdom better pass old, foolish king wey no sabi take warning again. Di young pesin fit come out from prison to rule, or dem fit born am as poor pesin inside dat same kingdom. I see all di living wey dey waka around for under di sun dey follow di young pesin, di one wey go take di king place. Di people wey come before am no get number. But di people wey come afta no happy with am. Dis one too na wind wey dey pass, na to dey run afta breeze.
