Chapter 2.

2 ¹For di second year wey Nebuchadnezzar dey rule, e get dreams; im spirit no settle and sleep comot from im eye. ²So di king order make dem call di magicians, di enchanters, di sorcerers, and di astrologers make dem come tell am im dreams. Dem come stand before di king. ³Di king tell dem, “I dream one dream, and my spirit no settle as I wan sabi wetin di dream mean.”

⁴Den di astrologers tell di king for Aramaic language, “King, live forever! Tell your servants di dream, and we go reveal wetin e mean.”

¹⁷Den Daniel go im house and tell im companions Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah about di matter, ¹⁸e beg dem make dem ask for mercy from our Papa wey dey for heaven about dis hidden thing, so that dem no go destroy Daniel and im companions along wit di oda wise men of Babylon. ¹⁹Den di hidden thing come reveal to Daniel for one night vision, and Daniel bless our Papa wey dey for heaven. ²⁰Daniel talk say: “Make dem bless di name of our Papa forever and ever, becos wisdom and power na im own. ²¹E dey change times and seasons; e dey comot kings and e dey set up kings; e dey give wisdom to di wise and knowledge to dem wey get understanding. ²²E dey reveal deep and hidden things; e sabi wetin dey inside darkness, and di light dey stay wit am.

²³To you, di God of my fathers, I dey give thanks and praise, becos you don give me wisdom and power, and now you don make me sabi wetin we ask you; you don make us sabi di king matter.”

Daniel Bring di Answer

²⁴So Daniel go meet Arioch, wey di king don appoint to destroy di wise men of Babylon, and e tell am, “No destroy di wise men of Babylon. Carry me go meet di king, and I go give am di meaning.”

²⁵Den Arioch quick quick carry Daniel come before di king and e talk, “Among di people of Judah wey dem carry go exile, I don find one man wey fit tell di king di meaning.”

²⁶Di king ask Daniel, wey dem dey call Belteshazzar, “You fit tell me di dream wey I see and wetin e mean?”

²⁷Daniel answer di king, “No wise men, enchanters, magicians, or astrologers fit reveal di hidden thing wey di king dey ask about.

²⁸But our Papa wey dey for heaven dey reveal hidden things, and e don make King Nebuchadnezzar sabi wetin go happen for di last days. Your dream and di visions wey pass for your mind as you lie down for your bed na dis one: ^a a v28 “Di last days” mean di final era of history before God go set up im kingdom wey no dey end.

²⁹“As you lie down for bed, O king, your mind turn to wetin go come, and di One wey dey reveal hidden things show you wetin go be.

³⁰But dis hidden thing come reveal to me not becos I get wisdom pass any oda person wey dey alive, but so that di king fit sabi wetin e mean, and you fit understand di thoughts wey dey your heart.

³¹“You look, O king, and you see one big statue. Dis statue, wey big and dey shine well well, stand before you, and di way e look dey make person fear.

³²Di head of di statue na fine gold, im chest and arms na silver, im belle and thighs na bronze, ³³im legs na iron, im feet na small iron and small clay.

³⁴As you dey look, one stone wey dem cut wey no be wit hand strike di feet of di statue wey be iron and clay, and e crush dem. ^b b v34 Di stone wey no be human hand cut come turn one mountain wey fill di whole earth — di kingdom wey our Papa dey set up through Jesus, wey no go ever destroy and wey no go ever pass to any oda person.

³⁵Den di iron, clay, bronze, silver, and gold all break into pieces together, and dem come be like chaff for threshing floor for dry season. Di wind carry dem comot, and no trace remain. But di stone wey strike di statue come turn one big mountain wey fill di whole earth.

³⁶“Dis na di dream. Now we go tell di king wetin e mean.

³⁷You, king, na di king of kings, wey our Papa wey dey for heaven don give kingdom, power, might, and glory.

³⁸Into your hand e don put all people, di animals of di field, and di birds of di sky, everywhere wey dem dey live, e make you ruler over all of dem. You be di head of gold.

³⁹“After you anoda kingdom go rise, wey no strong reach your own; den one third kingdom, of bronze, wey go rule over all di earth.

⁴⁰One fourth kingdom go strong like iron—iron dey break and shatter everything—and as iron dey crush all dis, e go break dem and crush dem.

⁴¹As you see di feet and toes—part potter clay, part iron—e go be one kingdom wey divide; still e go get some of di strength of iron, just as you see iron mix wit soft clay.

⁴²As di toes be part iron and part clay, so di kingdom go be part strong and part weak.

⁴³As you see iron mix wit soft clay, di people go mix through marriage but dem no go hold together, just as iron no dey mix wit clay.

⁴⁴“For di days of dem kings, our Papa wey dey for heaven go set up one kingdom wey nobody go ever destroy, and wey im rule no go pass to anoda people. E go crush all dis kingdoms and end dem, and e go stand forever.

⁴⁵Na dis di vision mean: di stone wey dem cut from mountain, wey no be human hand, break di iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold into pieces. Our great Papa don show di king wetin go happen after dis. Di dream sure, and di meaning na something wey person fit trust.”

⁴⁶Den King Nebuchadnezzar fall face down, bow to Daniel, and order make dem give am offering and incense.

⁴⁷Di king tell Daniel, “True true your God na God of gods, Oga of kings, and di One wey dey reveal secrets, since you fit reveal dis one.”
