Acts 16

16 ¹Paul waka reach Derbe and Lystra. One disciple dey there wey im name na Timothy, di pikin of one Jewish woman wey believe, but im papa na Greek man. ²Di brothers for Lystra and Iconium dey talk good things about am. ³Paul want make im travel with am, so e take am go circumcise am, because of di Jews wey dey for those places, because dem all sabi say im papa na Greek man. ⁴As dem dey waka through di towns, dem dey give dem di things wey di apostles and elders for Jerusalem don decide, make dem keep am. ⁵So di churches come strong for di faith and di number dey grow every day.

¹⁶As we dey go di prayer place, we meet one slave girl wey get spirit of divination for body; she dey make her masters plenty money through say she dey tell people wetin go happen. ¹⁷She follow Paul and us dey shout, “Dis men na servants of di Most High God, dem dey announce to una di way of salvation.” ¹⁸She dey do dis for plenty days. Paul vex well well, e turn come tell di spirit, “I command you for di name of Jesus Christ, comot from her body.” Di spirit comot that same time.

²⁹Di jailer call for light, e rush enter, and e fall down dey shake for front of Paul and Silas. ³⁰Then e bring dem comot outside and say, “Oga mi, wetin I go do make dem save me?”

³¹And dem talk say, “Believe for Oga Jesus, and dem go save you, you and di people for your house.” ³²Dem tell am and everybody for im house Oga im word. ³³For that same hour of di night, e take dem go wash dem wound; then dem baptize am and everybody for im house that same time. ³⁴E bring dem go up inside im house, e put food for dem front, and im belle full with joy with everybody for im house because dem don believe for our Papa.

³⁵But when morning reach, di magistrates send di police, dem talk say, “Release those men.”

³⁶Di jailer tell Paul, “Di magistrates don send word make dem release una. Come out now and go with peace.”

³⁷But Paul tell dem, “Dem flog us for public, without any trial, us wey be Roman citizens, and dem throw us for prison. Now dem wan send us comot for hiding? No o! Make dem come here demself come lead us comot.”

³⁸Di officers carry dis words go report to di magistrates, and fear catch dem when dem hear say dem na Roman citizens. ³⁹Dem come, dem beg dem, dem lead dem comot, and dem beg dem make dem comot for di city. ⁴⁰So dem comot for di prison and go Lydia house.
