If you listen well-well to di voice of your Papa, dey careful to do all im commandments wey I dey give you today, your Papa go put you high pass all di nations for di earth. All dis blessings go come on top you and catch you, if you listen to di voice of your Papa: Blessing go dey for you inside di city, and blessing go dey for you for di field. Blessing go dey for di pikin wey comot for your belle, di fruit of your ground, di increase of your animal dem—di young ones of your cattle and your sheep and goat dem. Blessing go dey for your basket and your bowl wey you dey knead bread inside. Blessing go dey for you wen you dey enter, and blessing go dey for you wen you dey comot. Your Papa go knock down before you di enemies wey rise against you. Dem go come at you one way and run comot from you seven ways. Your Papa go command blessing on top you inside your store-houses and everything wey you put your hand do, and e go bless you for di land wey your Papa dey give you. Your Papa go establish you as one holy people to imself, just as e swear give you, if you keep di commands of your Papa and waka for im ways. Den all di peoples of di earth go see say dem dey call you by di name of our Papa, and dem go fear you. Your Papa go make you overflow with plenty good things—di pikin wey comot for your belle, di increase of your animal dem, di fruit of your ground—inside di land wey your Papa swear give your fathers to give you. Your Papa go open im better store for you, di heavens, to give your land rain for im season and to bless all di work of your hands. You go lend give plenty nations but you no go borrow. Your Papa go make you di head, not di tail, you go dey rise up always, you no go ever fall, if you listen to di commandments of your Papa wey I dey command you today, dey do dem well-well. No turn comot from any of di words wey I dey command you today, to di right or di left, to follow oda gods and serve dem.

Wen Dem Turn Comot

But if you no go listen to di voice of your Papa, dey do well-well all im commandments and statutes wey I dey command you today, all dis curses go come on top you and catch you: a a v15 Dis warnings dey comot from di heart of one Papa, no be from one judge wey far—di curses dey talk about di wayo wey dey happen wen person dey live against di way wey di Maker plan am, and our Papa dey grieve for dem even as e dey call dem name. Curse go dey for you inside di city, and curse go dey for you for di field. Curse go dey for your basket and your bowl wey you dey knead bread inside. Curse go dey for di pikin wey comot for your belle and for di fruit of your ground, di increase of your cattle and di young ones of your sheep and goat dem. Curse go dey for you wen you dey enter, and curse go dey for you wen you dey comot. Your Papa go send on top you curse, confusion, and correction inside everything wey you put your hand do, until dem destroy you and you perish quick-quick, because of di evil of di things wey you do wen you abandon me. Your Papa go make sickness stick to you until e don finish you comot from di land wey you dey enter go possess. Your Papa go strike you with wasting sickness, fever, swelling, burning heat, dryness, and sickness wey dey spoil crop; dem go pursue you until you perish. Di heavens on top your head go be like bronze, and di earth under you go be like iron. Your Papa go turn di rain of your land to powder and dust; e go fall from di heavens on top you until dem destroy you. Your Papa go make dem knock you down before your enemies. You go comot one way go against dem but you go run seven ways, and you go turn to horror-thing to all di kingdoms of di earth. Your dead bodies go be food for all di birds of di sky and di beasts of di earth, and nobody go dey to scare dem comot. Your Papa go strike you with di boils of Egypt, swelling for body, sore wey dey rotten, and di itch, wey nothing fit heal. Your Papa go strike you with madness, with blindness, and with confusion of mind. For afternoon you go dey grope like blind person for darkness, and you no go succeed for your ways. Dem go just dey oppress you and rob you all di time, and nobody go dey to save you. You go promise marry one woman, but anoda man go sleep with am. You go build house, but you no go live inside am. You go plant vineyard, but you no go enjoy di fruit. Dem go kill your ox before your eyes, but you no go chop from am. Dem go seize your donkey comot from you and dem no go return am. Dem go give your sheep and goat dem to your enemies, and nobody go dey to rescue you. Dem go give your sons and your daughters to anoda people while your eyes dey watch, and you go dey long for dem all day, but your hand no go get power do anything. One people wey you no know go chop di produce of your land and all your labor; dem go just dey oppress you and crush you all di time. And wetin your eyes go see go make you mad. Your Papa go strike you with painful boils wey no fit heal for your knees and legs, from di sole of your foot to di top of your head. Your Papa go drive you and di king wey you put over yourself go one nation wey you and your fathers never know, and for dia you go serve oda gods of wood and stone. You go turn to horror-thing, one proverb, and something wey people go dey mock, among all di peoples wey your Papa go drive you go. You go carry plenty seed go di field but you go harvest small, because locust go chop am. You go plant and care for vineyards, but you no go drink di wine or gather grapes—worm go chop dem. You go get olive trees for all your territory, but you no go rub oil on top yourself, because your olives go drop off. You go born sons and daughters, but dem no go remain yours, because dem go go into captivity. Locust wey dey make noise go take over all your trees and di fruit of your ground. Di foreigner wey dey among you go rise higher and higher pass you; you go sink lower and lower. E go lend give you, but you no go lend give am. E go be di head; you go be di tail.

All dis curses go come on top you, dey pursue you and catch you until dem destroy you, because you no listen to di voice of your Papa, to keep im commandments and statutes wey e command you. Dem go be sign and wonder against you and your pikin dem forever. Because you no serve your Papa with joy and glad heart wen you get everything plenty-plenty, you go serve di enemies wey your Papa send against you, inside hunger, thirst, nakedness, and terrible poverty. E go put iron yoke for your neck until e destroy you. Your Papa go bring one nation against you from far, from di ends of di earth, dey swoop down like eagle—one nation wey you no go understand dia language, one nation with fierce face wey no go show respect to di old people or mercy to di young. Dem go chop di young ones of your animal dem and di fruit of your ground until dem destroy you, and dem no go leave you grain, new wine, or oil, no young ones of your cattle or young ones of your sheep and goat dem, until dem make you perish. Dem go surround you inside all your towns until your high, strong walls wey you dey trust come down for all your land. Dem go surround you inside all di towns for all di land wey your Papa don give you. Den, inside di siege and di suffering wey your enemy go put on top you, you go chop di fruit of your own belle, di flesh of di sons and daughters wey your Papa give you. Di man wey dey gentle pass and soft pass among you go get bad eye for im broda, for di wife wey e dey embrace, and for im children wey remain, e go refuse to share with any of dem di flesh of im own children wey e dey chop, because nothing else remain for am inside di siege and di suffering wey your enemy go put on top you inside all your towns. Di woman wey dey gentle pass and soft pass among you, wey soft reach say she no go ever even put di sole of her foot for ground, go get bad eye for di husband wey she dey embrace, and for her own son and daughter, even for di afterbirth wey comot between her legs and di children wey she born, because she go chop dem secret-secret since nothing else remain, during di siege and di suffering wey your enemy go put on top you inside your towns. If you no dey careful to obey all di words of dis law wey dem write inside dis book, to fear dis glorious and awesome name—di Papa, den your Papa go bring plagues wey pass wetin man dey see on top you and your pikin dem—plagues wey heavy and wey no dey comot, sickness wey heavy and wey no dey comot. E go bring back on top you all di diseases of Egypt wey you dey fear, and dem go stick to you. Every sickness and plague wey dem no write inside dis book of di law, your Papa go still bring am on top you until dem destroy you. You wey plenty like di stars for sky go remain small, because you no listen to di voice of your Papa. Just as e sweet your Papa to do you good and multiply you, so your Papa go take joy to ruin and destroy you, and dem go tear you comot from di land wey you dey enter go possess. Your Papa go scatter you among all di peoples, from one end of di earth to di oda, and for dia you go serve oda gods of wood and stone, wey you and your fathers no know. Among dem nations you no go find rest, no place for di sole of your foot to rest. For dia your Papa go give you heart wey dey shake, eyes wey dey fail, and soul wey don lose hope. Your life go hang for doubt before you. Night and day you go dey fear, you no go ever sure of your life. For morning you go talk say, “If e for be say na evening now!” and for evening you go talk say, “If e for be say na morning now!”—because of di fear wey full your heart and di things wey your eyes go see. Your Papa go carry you go back to Egypt inside ships, by di road wey I talk say you no go ever see again. For dia you go dey offer yourselves for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but nobody go buy you.
