Di Greatest Pass All
Every gift wey dem dey compete for — tongues, prophecy, knowledge, faith wey fit move mountain, even to give everything comot — e no count for anything without love. Love dey patient, e no dey keep record of wrong, and e go last pass di gifts, wey go end when we see face to face.
13 1If I dey speak di tongues of people and of angels, but I no get love, I just be like gong wey dey make noise, cymbal wey dey clang anyhow. 2If I fit prophesy, and I sabi all di hidden things and all knowledge, and I get all faith, wey plenty reach to move mountain, but I no get love, I be nothing. 3If I share everything wey I get, and if I hand over my body so dat I fit boast, but I no get love, e no add anything to me.
4Love get patience, love dey kind. E no dey jealous, e no dey boast, e no dey blow im own trumpet. 5E no dey rude, e no dey seek im own, e no dey vex sharp-sharp, e no dey keep record of di wrong wey person do. 6Love no dey happy for bad-bad thing, but e dey rejoice with di truth. 7E dey always protect, e dey always trust, e dey always hope, e dey always endure.
8Love no dey ever fail. But prophecy go end, tongues go stop, and knowledge go end. 9Because na small part we sabi and na small part we dey prophesy, 10but wen di complete one come, di small part go disappear. 11Wen I be pikin, I dey talk like pikin, I dey think like pikin, I dey reason like pikin. Wen I turn man, I comot all di pikin things leave dem for back. 12Because now we dey see image wey no clear for mirror; but den, na face to face. Now I sabi small part; but den I go sabi finish, just as dem sabi me finish. 13So now dis three remain: faith, hope, and love. But di greatest pass all na love.
