Matthew 22

22 ¹Jesus talk to dem again with parable, e say:

²“Di kingdom of our Papa be like one king wey prepare wedding feast for im son. ³E send im servants make dem go call di people wey e invite come di wedding feast, but dem refuse come. ⁴Again e send oda servants, e say, ‘Tell di people wey I invite: Look, I don prepare my food; I don kill my cow dem and di fat animal dem, everything don ready. Make una come di wedding feast.’ ⁵But dem no send am, dem just comot, one go im farm, anoda one go im business, ⁶while di rest grab im servants, treat dem anyhow, and kill dem. ⁷Di king vex well well, e send im soldier dem, destroy dem murderers, and burn dia city. ⁸Den e tell im servants, ‘Di wedding don ready, but di people wey I invite no fit for am. ⁹So make una go di big road dem and invite anybody wey una see come di wedding feast.’ ¹⁰Dem servants comot go di road dem and gada everybody wey dem see, bad and good, and di wedding hall full with guest dem.

¹¹“But wen di king enta come see di guest dem, e see one man wey no wear wedding cloth. ¹²E ask am, ‘My friend, how you take enta here wey you no wear wedding cloth?’ Di man no fit talk anything. ¹³Den di king tell di servants, ‘Tie im hand and im leg, and throw am for di darkness wey dey outside, wia person go dey cry and dey grind teeth.’ ¹⁴Because plenty people dey called, but na small dem choose.”

Give our Papa Wetin Be Im Own

¹⁵Den di Pharisee dem go plan how dem go take trap am with im own word.

¹⁶Dem send dia disciple come am, together with di Herodian dem, dem say, “Teacher, we know say you dey talk true and you dey really teach God im way; you no dey fear anybody, because you no dey judge person by im position. ¹⁷So tell us, wetin you think: E correct make person pay tax to Caesar, or e no correct?”

¹⁸But Jesus, wey sabi dia bad mind, say, “Why una dey test me, una wey be hypocrite? ¹⁹Show me di coin wey dem dey take pay tax.” And dem bring one denarius give am.

²⁰E ask dem, “Na who image be dis, and na who name dem write for am?”

²¹Dem say, “Na Caesar own.” Den e tell dem, “So give Caesar wetin be Caesar own, and give our Papa wetin be our Papa own.”

²²Wen dem hear am, wonder catch dem; and dem leave am comot go.

Our Papa Na di God of People Wey Dey Alive

²³Dat same day, some Sadducee come meet am — na dem be di people wey dey talk say resurrection no dey — and dem ask am, ²⁴dem say, “Teacher, Moses talk say: if man die wey e no get pikin, im broda must marry di widow and born pikin for im broda. ²⁵Now, seven broda dey among us. Di first one marry, die, and, sinci e no get pikin, e leave im wife for im broda. ²⁶Na so di second and di third go, reach di seventh. ²⁷Last of all, di woman self die. ²⁸For di resurrection, den, na who wife she go be among di seven? Because all of dem marry am.”

²⁹Jesus answer, “Una don miss road — una no know di Scripture, and una no know our Papa im power. ³⁰Because for di resurrection, people no dey marry and dem no dey give dem marry, but dem dey like di angel dem for heaven. ³¹Now, concerning di resurrection of dead people, una neva read wetin our Papa tell una:

³²‘Na I be di God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob’? E no be God of dead people, but of people wey dey alive.”

³³And wen di crowd hear am, dia mouth open for im teaching.

Love your Papa With Everything Wey You Get

³⁴But wen di Pharisee dem hear say e don shut di Sadducee dem mouth, dem gada together. ³⁵And one of dem, wey sabi di Law well well, ask am one question to test am: ³⁶“Teacher, na which one be di great commandment for di Law?”

³⁷E tell am, “Love your Papa with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. ³⁸Na dis one be di great and di first commandment. ³⁹And di second one be like am: You go love your neighbor like yoursef. ⁴⁰Na for dis two commandment all di Law and di Prophet dem stand.”

Na Whose Pikin Be di Christ?

⁴¹Now, while di Pharisee dem gada together, Jesus ask dem, ⁴²“Wetin una think about di Christ? Na whose pikin e be?” Dem tell am, “Na David own.”

⁴³E ask dem, “How come den David, through di Holy Spirit, dey call am Oga, wen e say,

⁴⁴‘Our Papa tell my Oga, “Sidon for my right hand, until I go put your enemy dem under your leg”’?

⁴⁵If den David dey call di Christ Oga, how di Christ take fit be David im pikin?”

⁴⁶Nobody fit answer am even one word, and from dat day nobody get liver again to ask am anoda thing.
