My Going Dey for Una Own Good

Jesus tell dem straight say dem go pursue dem comot from synagogue and people wey think say dem dey serve God go kill dem. Still, im going na good thing, because the Spirit go come to convict and guide. Their sorrow go turn to joy, like woman wey dey labour. The Papa love dem.

Chapter 16.

"I don tell una all dis so dat una no go fall comot. Dem go drive una comot from synagogue; but di hour dey come wey anybody wey kill una go tink say na service e dey do for God. Dem go do dis because dem never know di Papa or me. But I don tell una dis so dat wen dem own hour reach, una go remember say I tell una. I no tell una dis from di start, because I dey with una.

"But now I dey go meet am wey send me, and none of una dey ask me, ‘Where you dey go?’ Instead, because I don talk dis tins give una, sorrow don full una heart. I tell una di truth: my going dey for una own good. If I no go, di Helper, di Holy Spirit, no go come meet una. But if I go, I go send am come meet una. And wen e come, e go show di world say dem dey wrong concerning sin and correct-and-holy way and judgment: concerning sin, because dem no believe for me; concerning correct-and-holy way, because I dey go meet my Papa and una no go see me again; concerning judgment, because dem don judge di ruler of dis world.

"I still get plenty tins to talk give una, but una no fit carry dem now. But wen e come, di Spirit of truth, e go lead una into all truth. E no go talk from imsef, but e go talk wetin e hear, and e go tell una wetin dey come. E go glorify me, because e go take wetin be my own and tell am give una. All wetin my Papa get na my own; na why I talk say e dey take from wetin be my own and go tell una.

"Small time una no go see me again; den small time again una go see me."

Una Sorrow Go Turn to Joy

So some of im disciples ask each other, "Wetin e mean: ‘Small time una no go see me, and den small time una go see me,’ and, ‘Because I dey go meet di Papa’?" So dem keep dey talk, "Wetin e mean, ‘small time’? We no sabi wetin e dey talk about."

Jesus sabi say dem wan ask am, so e tell dem, "Una dey ask each other wetin I mean wen I talk say, ‘Small time una no go see me, and den small time una go see me’?

"Truly, truly, I tell una: una go cry and mourn, but di world go dey rejoice. Una go grieve, but una sorrow go turn to joy. Woman wey dey labour dey get pain because her hour don reach; but once she born, she forget di anguish, because she dey joyful say person don born enter di world. So una too get sorrow now, but I go see una again, and una heart go rejoice, and nobody go fit take una joy from una.

For dat day una no go ask me anytin. Truly, truly, I tell una: wetin una ask my Papa for my name, e go give una. Till now una never ask anytin for my name. Ask, and una go receive, so dat una joy go full complete.

I don tell una dis tins for parable talk. Di hour dey come wey I no go talk for parable again, but I go tell una plain about my Papa. For dat day una go ask for my name, and I no dey tell una say I go ask my Papa on una behalf; because di Papa imsef love una, because una don love me and believe say I come from our Papa. a a v27 Jesus tell di disciples say di Papa imsef love dem — no be from far, no be through Jesus as go-between wey no wan do am. Dia love for Jesus and dia faith say e come from di Papa don put dem inside di Papa im own affection. I come from my Papa and enter di world; again, I dey leave di world, dey go meet my Papa."

Im disciples talk, "Now you dey talk plain and you no dey use any parable! Now we sabi say you sabi everytin and you no need anybody to ask you question; so we believe say you come from our Papa."

Jesus answer, "Una believe now?

"See, di hour dey come—e don come—wey una go scatter, each one to im own house, and una go leave me alone. But I no dey alone; my Papa dey with me. I don tell una dis so dat una fit get peace inside me. For di world una go face trouble, but make una heart strong—I don overcome di world."
