Our Papa Good Well-Well
A psalm wey Asaph write.
73 1 True-true, our Papa good to Israel, to dem wey get clean heart.
2 But as for me, my leg nearly slip; my step nearly comot for road. 3 Because I bin dey envy dem wey dey do proud when I see how bad people dey prosper. 4 Dem no dey feel pain when dem dey die; dem body healthy and dey shine. 5 Dem no dey inside wahala like oda people; trouble no dey knock dem like di rest of mankind. 6 Na why pride be dem necklace; violence dey cover dem like cloth. 7 Dem eye dey comot outside from di fat; di bad tin wey dem heart dey imagine no get end. 8 Dem dey laugh people to scorn and dey talk wickedness; from up dem dey threaten to oppress. 9 Dem dey open dem mouth against heaven, and dem tongue dey waka anyhow for ground. 10 Na why im people dey turn go back to dem, and dey drink plenty water finish. 11 And dem dey talk say, “How God take know? Knowledge dey for di Most High?” 12 Look — na dis kind be di bad people; dem dey rest anytime, and dem riches dey increase.
13 For true, na for nothing I keep my heart clean and wash my hand for innocence. 14 Because di whole day dem dey knock me, and every morning dem dey correct me.
15 If I bin talk say, “Na so I go talk,” I for don betray di generation of your children. 16 When I try to understand all dis tin, e be like heavy work wey tire me for my eye, 17 until I enter di holy place of our Papa; na dere I understand how dem go end. 18 True-true, You put dem for slippery place; You dey make dem fall enter ruin. 19 See how dem take spoil for one moment, fear carry dem comot finish! 20 Like dream when person wake up, O Sovereign Papa, when You rise up, You go despise dem like shadow wey no dey real.
21 When my heart bin dey bitter and pain pierce me inside, 22 I bin be person wey no get sense and no sabi anytin; I bin be like animal in front of You. 23 But still, I dey with You all di time; You hold my right hand. 24 You dey lead me with your counsel, and afta You go carry me enter glory. 25 Who I get for heaven except You? And notin dey for ground wey I want pass You. 26 My body and my heart fit fail, but our Papa na di strength of my heart and my portion forever.
27 Because dem wey dey far from You go perish; You dey finish everybody wey no dey faithful to You. 28 But as for me, e good make I dey near our Papa; I don make di Sovereign Papa my hiding place, so I fit tell everybody all your work.
