My Days Na Just Small Breeze

Job compare im life to slave wey dey do im shift, and hired man wey dey wait for im pay: night wey im dey turn turn for bed, skin wey dey burst open. Im no go keep quiet. Im turn the psalm to bitter tin, dey ask why God dey watch person so close, and make E look anoda side.

Chapter 7.

"Abi people no dey do hard work for dis earth, and dia days no be like di days of worker wey dem hire? Like slave wey dey hungry for shade, and like worker wey dem hire wey dey wait for im pay, na so dem give me months wey empty, and dem don assign nights of suffer give me. Wen I lie down I dey talk, 'Wen I go wake up?' But di night dey drag long, and I dey turn dis way and dat way sotay morning break. Worm and lump of dirty cover my body like cloth; my skin dey hard, den e go tear open again. My days dey fast pass di shuttle wey person dey use weave cloth, and dem dey end without any hope. Remember say my life na just small breeze; I no go ever see anytin good again. Di eye wey dey see me now no go see me again; your eyes go dey look for me, but I go don comot. Just as cloud dey clear and disappear, na so person wey go down enter grave no dey come up again; e no dey return to im house again, and im place no dey know am again.

"Na dat reason make I no go shut my mouth; I go talk from di pain of my spirit, I go complain from di bitter for my soul. Abi na sea I be, or sea monster, wey You put guard for my head? Wen I talk say, 'My bed go comfort me, my mat go ease my complaint,' na den You go dey scare me with dream and dey frighten me with vision, so tay I go rather choose make dem strangle me and make I die pass dis my body. I dey waste away; I no go live forever. Leave me alone, because my days na just small breeze.

"Wetin be man, wey You dey make am so important, and wey You dey put your heart on am, wey You dey visit am every morning and dey test am every moment? How long e go take before You go look away from me, and leave me alone small time make I fit swallow my spit? If I don sin, wetin I don do You, You wey dey watch mankind? Why You make me your target, so tay I don turn burden to my own self? Why You no go forgive my sin and take away my guilt? Because soon I go lie down for inside di dust; You go search for me, but I go don comot."
