Locust Dey Come
Our Papa send locust make dem chop anything wey di hail leave, until nothing green remain; Pharaoh officials ask am whether e no see say Egypt don scatter. Den darkness wey thick reach to say person fit feel am cover Egypt for three days, but Israel get light. Di bargaining end wen Pharaoh threaten Moses life.
10 1Then our Papa tell Moses say, "Go meet Pharaoh, because I don make im heart hard, and di heart of im servants too, so I fit put my signs among dem. 2Tell your pikin and your pikin-pikin how I take mock di Egypt people and put my signs among dem, so you go know say I be your Papa."
3Moses and Aaron go meet Pharaoh and talk say, "Na so di Papa of di Hebrew people talk: 'How long you go refuse to humble yourself for my front? Make my people go so dem fit serve me.' 4Because if you refuse to let my people go, tomorrow I go bring locust enter your land. 5Dem go cover di whole ground, so person no go fit see di earth, and dem go chop wetin di hail leave for you, and chop every tree wey dey grow for you for di field. 6Dem go full your houses, di houses of your servants, and di houses of all di Egypt people—something wey your papas and your grandpapas never see, from di day dem dey for earth reach today." Then he turn comot for Pharaoh front.
7Pharaoh officials talk say, "How long dis man go trap us? Make di people go, so dem fit serve dia God. You never sabi say Egypt don spoil finish?"
8Dem carry Moses and Aaron come back to Pharaoh. "Go, serve God," he talk. "But na who and who go go?"
9Moses talk say, "We go go wit our young and our old; our sons, our daughters, our flocks and our herds—we go go, because we get feast to do for our Papa."
10He tell dem say, "Make God dey wit you—as if I go let una and una small pikin go! See am, una get bad mind for inside. 11No o! Make una men go serve God, since na wetin una want be dat." So Pharaoh drive dem comot for im front.
12Then our Papa tell Moses say, "Stretch your hand over Egypt make locust come up over Egypt and chop every plant of di land wey di hail leave."
13Moses stretch im staff over Egypt, and our Papa drive east wind across di land di whole day and di whole night; by morning di wind carry di locust come. 14Locust come up over di whole Egypt, and dem settle for im whole territory—e bad well well, no locust like dem before, and no locust like dem go ever come again. 15Dem cover di whole ground, so e turn dark, and dem chop every plant of di land, and all di fruit of di tree wey di hail spare—no green thing remain for tree or for field plant for di whole land of Egypt. 16So Pharaoh quick call Moses and Aaron, and talk say, "I don sin against your God and against una. 17Abeg, forgive my sin only dis one time, and beg your God make e comot only dis death from me."
18So Moses comot for Pharaoh front and beg our Papa. 19Then our Papa turn di wind into very strong west wind wey lift di locust and drive dem enter di Red Sea; not even one locust remain for di whole territory of Egypt. 20But our Papa make Pharaoh heart hard, and he no let di people of Israel go.
Three Days of Darkness
21Then our Papa tell Moses say, "Stretch your hand towards di sky, so darkness go cover di land of Egypt—darkness wey thick reach make person fit touch am."
22Moses stretch im hand towards di sky; thick darkness cover di whole land of Egypt for three days. 23Nobody fit see im neighbour, and nobody comot for im place for three days, but all di Israel people get light for dia houses.
24Pharaoh call Moses and talk say, "Go, serve your God. Even una children fit go—only leave una flocks and una herds behind."
25Moses talk say, "You must also give us sacrifices and burnt offerings wey we go offer to our Papa. 26Our livestock must go wit us too—not even one hoof go stay behind. We go take some to serve our Papa; we no go sabi wetin we need to serve am until we reach there."
27But our Papa make Pharaoh heart hard, and he no gree let dem go. 28Pharaoh tell am say, "Comot for my front! Take care—no make you see my face again, because di day you see my face, you go die."
29Moses talk say, "Na true you talk. I no go ever see your face again."
