Acts 25

25 ¹Now, three days after Festus don reach di province, e go up from Caesarea go Jerusalem. ²For dia di chief priests and di Jewish leaders bring dia case against Paul come, and dem dey beg am well well, ³dey ask am make e do dem favour against Paul—say make e call Paul come Jerusalem. But dem don set trap for road to kill am. ⁴Festus answer say na Caesarea dem hold Paul, and say e imsef go soon comot go dia. ⁵E talk say, "So, make una big men wey fit follow me go, and una accuse di man, if any bad thing dey wit am."

⁶Festus no stay wit dem pass eight or ten days, den e go down go Caesarea. Di next day e sidon for di judge im seat and order say make dem bring Paul come. ⁷When Paul reach, di Jews wey come from Jerusalem surround am, dey bring plenty serious charges wey dem no fit prove. ⁸Paul answer for im defence: "I no do any wrong against di Jewish law, or di temple, or Caesar."

⁹But Festus, wey wan please di Jews, ask Paul, "You go gree go up go Jerusalem make dem judge you for dia before me on dis charges?"

¹⁰Paul talk say, "Na before Caesar im court I dey stand, na hia dem suppose judge me. I no do di Jews any wrong, as you yousef sabi am well well. ¹¹If I do wrong, if I do something wey deserve death, I no go refuse to die. But if wetin dis men dey charge me no get ground, nobody fit hand me over give dem. I appeal go Caesar."

¹²After Festus don talk wit im council, e answer, "You don appeal go Caesar; na Caesar you go go meet."

¹³Some days after, King Agrippa and Bernice come Caesarea come greet Festus. ¹⁴As dem spend plenty days for dia, Festus tell di king about Paul im case: "Felix leave one man hia as prisoner. ¹⁵When I dey Jerusalem, di chief priests and di elders of di Jews accuse am, dey ask me make I judge am guilty. ¹⁶I tell dem say e no be Roman way to hand over any person before di person wey dem accuse go face im accusers face to face, and get chance to defend imsef against di charge. ¹⁷So when dem gada come hia, I no waste time—di next day I sidon for di judgment seat and order say make dem bring di man come. ¹⁸When im accusers stand up, dem no bring any of di criminal charges wey I bin dey expect. ¹⁹Instead, dem get some quarrel wit am about dia own religion and about one dead man wey dem dey call Jesus, wey Paul dey insist say e dey alive. ²⁰As I no sabi how to investigate dis matter, I ask am if e go gree go Jerusalem make dem judge am for dia on dis charges. ²¹But since Paul appeal say make dem hold am for di Emperor im decision, I order say make dem hold am until I fit send am go Caesar."

²²Agrippa tell Festus, "I go like hear di man myself." Festus talk say, "Tomorrow, you go hear am."

Paul Stand Before Agrippa and Bernice

²³Di next day Agrippa and Bernice come wit plenty show, and dem enter di hall wit di military commanders and di big men of di city. On Festus im order, dem bring Paul come. ²⁴Festus talk say, "King Agrippa, and all of una wey dey hia wit us—una see dis man. Di whole Jewish people beg me about am, both for Jerusalem and hia, dey shout say e no suppose live again. ²⁵But as I no see anything wey deserve death, and since e imsef appeal go di Emperor, I decide say make I send am go dia. ²⁶I no get any correct thing to write my oga about am, so I bring am come before all of una, especially before you, King Agrippa, so that after dis examination I fit get something to write. ²⁷Because e no make sense to me to send prisoner without say I show di charges wey dem get against am."
