2 Samuel 15

15 ¹As time dey go, Absalom get chariot and horses for imsef, wit fifty men wey dey run ahead of am. ²Absalom go wake up early and stand for road side near di gate. Anytime person wey get quarrel come meet di king make e judge am, Absalom go call am say, "Na which town you come from?" Di man go answer, "Your servant na from one of di tribes of Israel."

³Den Absalom go tell am say, "Look am, wetin you dey talk good and correct, but di king never appoint anybody wey go hear you." ⁴Absalom go add say, "If only dem appoint me judge for di land! Anybody wey get quarrel or case fit come meet me, and I go do am justice." ⁵Anytime person come near make e bow for im front, Absalom go stretch im hand, hold am, and kiss am. ⁶Absalom do dis kind ting to every Israelite wey come meet di king make e judge am, so na so e take tiff di heart of Israel.

⁷After four years, Absalom tell di king say, "Abeg make I go Hebron go do one vow wey I make to our Papa. ⁸Bicos wen I dey stay for Geshur for Aram, I swear say: 'If our Papa bring me back go Jerusalem, I go worship am.'"

⁹Di king tell am say, "Go wit peace." So Absalom get up and go Hebron.

¹⁹Di king tell Ittai di Gittite, "Why you sef go follow us? Go back go stay wit di new king; you na stranger, person wey dem comot from im own land wey dey far. ²⁰Na yesterday you just come. ²¹Ittai answer di king, "As sure as our Papa dey live and my oga di king dey live, anywhere my oga di king dey, whether na life or death, na there your servant go dey."

²²David tell Ittai, "Go, cross over." So Ittai di Gittite cross over wit all im men and all di small pikin dem wey dey wit am. ²³Di whole land cry loud loud as all di people dey cross over. If our Papa happy wit me, e go bring me back and let me see am and where e dey stay again. ²⁶But if e talk say, 'I no dey take joy for you,' see me here—make e do me wetin e see fit." ²⁷Di king still tell Zadok di priest, "You no be seer? Return go di town wit peace, and carry your two sons follow you—Ahimaaz your son and Jonathan son of Abiathar. ²⁸I go wait for di wilderness crossings until word come from you come tell me wetin dey happen." ²⁹So Zadok and Abiathar carry di ark of our Papa go back Jerusalem and stay there.

³⁰David climb di Mount of Olives, e dey cry as e dey climb, e cover im head and e no wear shoe. ³¹Dem tell David say, "Ahithophel dey among di people wey dey plot wit Absalom." So David pray say, "our Papa, turn Ahithophel counsel into foolishness."

³²Wen David reach di top, where dem dey worship our Papa, Hushai di Archite dey there to meet am, im cloth tear and dust dey im head. ³³David tell am, "If you come wit me, na burden you go just be to me."

³⁴But if you go back go di town and tell Absalom, 'I go be your servant, my king; as I serve your papa before, na so now I go serve you,' den you fit spoil Ahithophel advice for me. ³⁵Zadok and Abiathar di priests dey there wit you. Tell dem everytin wey you hear for di king house. ³⁶Dia two sons dey there wit dem—Zadok son Ahimaaz and Abiathar son Jonathan. Send word give me through dem about everytin wey you hear.

³⁷So Hushai, David friend, enter di town just as Absalom dey enter Jerusalem.
