Jeremiah 32

32 ¹Di word wey come to Jeremiah from our Papa for di tenth year wey Zedekiah be king for Judah, wey be di eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar. ²For dat time, Babylon army don surround Jerusalem, and dem lock Jeremiah di prophet inside di courtyard wey di guard dey, for di palace of di king of Judah.

³Because Zedekiah king of Judah don put am for prison, dey talk say, “Why you dey prophesy dey talk say, ‘Na so our Papa talk: See, I dey go hand dis city give di king of Babylon, and e go capture am;

⁴“Zedekiah king of Judah no go escape from di Babylon people; dem go surely hand am give di king of Babylon, and e go talk with am mouth to mouth, and see am eye to eye. ⁵E go carry Zedekiah go Babylon, where e go dey until I come attend to am, na so our Papa talk. ¹³And for dia front I charge Baruch say:

¹⁴“Na so di Papa wey get all di army for heaven, our Papa of Israel, talk: Carry dis deeds—di purchase deed wey dem seal and di deed wey dem open—and put dem inside clay pot make dem last for long time. ¹⁵Because di Papa wey get all di army for heaven, our Papa of Israel, talk say: Dem go still buy house, field, and vineyard again for dis land.”

Jeremiah Prayer: No One Thing Hard For You

¹⁶After I don give di purchase deed to Baruch di pikin of Neriah, I pray to our Papa say: ¹⁷“Ah, Sovereign Papa! Na you your own hand make heaven and earth with your big power and with your hand wey you stretch out; no one thing hard for you. ¹⁸You dey show love wey no dey change to thousand thousand people, but you dey pay back di guilt of papa-and-mama go inside di lap of dia pikin after dem—O big and mighty Papa, di Papa wey get all di army for heaven na im name. ¹⁹You big for advice, you strong for work, your eyes dey open to all di ways of human being, you dey pay everybody according to im ways, according to di fruit of im work. ²⁰You do sign and wonder for Egypt, and reach today for Israel and among human being, you make name for yourself, just as e be today. ²¹You bring your people Israel comot from Egypt land with sign, wonder, strong hand, hand wey you stretch out, and big fear. ²²You give dem dis land wey you swear to dia forefathers say you go give dem—land wey milk and honey dey flow. ²³Dem enter, dem take am, but dem no obey your voice or waka for your law; all wey you command dem make dem do, dem no do am. Na so you bring all dis wahala come dem. ²⁴Dem don build siege ramp reach di city to capture am; dem don hand am give di Babylon people wey dey fight am, because of sword, hunger, and disease. Wetin you talk don happen—you dey see am. ²⁵But still, you, Sovereign Papa, talk say, ‘Buy di field with money, call witness’—even as dem don hand di city give di Babylon people.”

²⁶Den di word of our Papa come to Jeremiah say:

²⁷“Na me be di Papa of all flesh. Any one thing dey wey hard for me? ²⁸Na so our Papa talk: I dey hand dis city give di Babylon people, give Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and e go capture am. ²⁹Di Babylon people wey dey attack dis city go come, dem go burn am down with fire, together with di houses where di people burn offering give Baal and pour drink offering give other gods for dia roof, dey provoke me make I vex.

³⁰“Di people of Israel and Judah no do anything except evil for my eyes from dia young time; Israel no do anything except to vex me with di work of dia hand, na so our Papa talk.

³¹“Dis city don provoke my anger and my vexation from di day wey dem build am until now, so I go comot am from my eyes, ³²because of all di evil wey di people of Israel and Judah do to vex me—dem, dia kings, dia officials, dia priests, dia prophets, di men of Judah, and di people wey dey live for Jerusalem. ³³Dem turn dia back give me, no be dia face. Even as I teach dem again and again, dem refuse to listen or accept correction. ³⁴Dem put dia disgusting things inside di house wey dem dey call with my name, to make am dirty. ³⁵Dem build di high places of Baal for di Valley of Ben-Hinnom, dey sacrifice dia sons and daughters give Molech—something wey I never command or even think, say dem go do dis disgusting thing and make Judah sin.”

Dem Go Be My Pikin Dem; I Go Be Dia Papa

³⁶“Now, na so our Papa of Israel talk about dis city wey una dey talk say dem don hand am give di king of Babylon by sword, hunger, and disease:

³⁷“I go gather dem from every land where I scatter dem for my anger, my rage, and my big vexation, I go bring dem back come dis place, and make dem live for safety. ³⁸Dem go be my pikin dem, and I go be dia Papa. ³⁹I go give dem one heart, one way, make dem fear me all di time—for dia own good and for di good of dia pikin after dem. ⁴⁰I go make Covenant wey no go end with dem, I no go ever stop to do dem good; I go put my fear inside dia heart, so dem no go ever turn away from me. ⁴¹I go rejoice over dem, dey do dem good, and I go truly plant dem for dis land, with all my heart and all my soul.”

⁴²Because na so our Papa talk: “Just as I bring all dis big wahala come dis people, na so I go bring come dem all di good wey I dey promise. ⁴³Dem go buy field for dis land wey una dey call empty place, wey no get man or animal, wey dem don hand give di Babylon people. ⁴⁴Dem go buy field with silver, dem go write deed, seal am, and get witness—for Benjamin land, for di area around Jerusalem, for di towns of Judah, for di hill country, for di lowland, and for di Negev—because I go bring dem back from captivity, na so our Papa talk.”
