Acts 28

28 ¹As dem don carry us cross safe safe, we come learn say dem dey call di island Malta. ²Di people wey dey dat place show us kindness wey pass ordinary: dem light fire and welcome all of us, because rain don start and cold dey. ³As Paul gather one bundle of stick put for di fire, one snake wey get poison comot from di heat come hook imsef for Paul im hand. ⁴As di people for dat place see di creature dey hang for im hand, dem talk to each other say, "Dis man na killer for sure—even as e escape di sea, Justice no go gree make e live." ⁵But e shake di creature comot into di fire, and notin do am. ⁶Dem dey expect say im body go swell or say e go just fall die sharp sharp. But afta dem watch am tey and see say notin bad happen to am, dem come change dem mind, dey call am god.

⁷Near dat place, na di land wey belong to di big-man wey dey rule di island, im name na Publius, and e welcome us, host us well well for three days. ⁸Publius im papa dey lie down sick wit fever and belle-run. Paul Reach Rome

Paul Preach di Kingdom

¹⁷Three days afta, e gather di Jewish leaders. As dem gather, e talk to dem say, "My brothers, even as I no do anytin against our people or di way wey our forefathers dey do, dem hand me over as prisoner from Jerusalem into di hand of Rome people. ¹⁸Afta dem question me, dem wan release me, because I no get any case wey deserve death. ¹⁹But wen di Jews vex against am, dem force me make I appeal to Caesar—even as I no get any case wey I wan bring against my own nation. ²⁰Na why I ask make I see una and talk wit una—na because of di hope of Israel I take dey wear dis chain."

²¹Dem talk to am say: "We no receive any letter from Judea about you, and no brother wey come here don report or talk any bad tin about you. ²²But we go like hear wetin you dey tink, because we know say na everywhere people dey talk against dis group."

²³Dem set one day come meet am for im lodging, and dem come plenty pass before. From morning till evening e dey explain, dey testify about di kingdom of our Papa, and dey try convince dem about Jesus from di Law of Moses and di Prophets. ²⁴Some of dem gree wit wetin e talk, but odas no gree believe. ²⁵As dem no gree wit each other, dem comot afta Paul add one last word: "Di Holy Spirit talk correct-correct to una forefathers through Isaiah di prophet, wen e say,

²⁶"'Go tell dis people say: Una go hear well well but una no go ever understand, and una go see well well but una no go ever perceive.

²⁷Because di heart of dis people don dull, and dem ear no dey hear well, and dem don close dem eye—if no be so, dem for see wit dem eye, and hear wit dem ear, and understand wit dem heart, come turn back, and I for heal dem.'
