Paul Im Heart for Israel
Paul people get real zeal for our Papa, but dem aim am for wrong thing: dem dey try set up dia own righteousness instead of Im own. The oda way dey near, for mouth and heart, and e open to anybody wey call. And na there the practical problem dey — nobody fit hear if nobody send person.
10 1Brothers and sisters, wetin my heart dey want and my prayer to our Papa for Israel na say make dem see salvation. 2I dey testify about dem: dem get zeal for our Papa, but e no follow knowledge. 3Dem no sabi our Papa im correct-and-holy way, and as dem dey try establish dem own, dem no gree submit to our Papa im correct-and-holy way. 4Because Christ na di goal of di law, so everybody wey believe go receive correct-and-holy way.
5Because Moses write about di correct-and-holy way wey stand on di law: “Di person wey do dis things go live by dem.”
6But di correct-and-holy way wey base on faith talk say: “No talk for your heart say, ‘Who go go up reach heaven?’” (dat one mean, to bring Christ come down). 7“or ‘Who go go down enter di abyss?’” (dat one mean, to bring Christ come up from di dead). 8But wetin e talk? “Di word dey near you, for your mouth and for your heart”—wey mean di word of faith wey we dey proclaim: 9If you confess with your mouth say Jesus na Oga, and you believe for your heart say our Papa raise am up from di dead, you go see salvation. 10Because na with di heart you dey believe and dem dey make you correct with our Papa, na with di mouth you dey confess and you dey see salvation. 11Because di Scripture talk say, “Everybody wey believe for am no go shame.” 12No difference dey between Jew and Greek: di same Oga na Oga of everybody, and e dey generous to all wey dey call on am. 13Because “everybody wey call on di name of our Oga Jesus go see salvation.” a a v13 Paul take di promise wey talk say “everybody wey call on di name of Oga go see salvation” and e apply am to Jesus — to call on di Oga na to call on am.
14So how dem fit call on person wey dem never believe? How dem fit believe for person wey dem never hear about? How dem fit hear if nobody dey preach? 15How dem fit proclaim am if dem no send dem? As dem write am: “How di feet of dose wey dey bring good news fine well well!”
16But no be everybody obey di good news, because Isaiah talk say, “Our Papa, na who believe di message wey we bring?” 17So faith dey come from hearing, and hearing dey come through di word about Christ. 18But I dey ask: dem no hear? Yes o, dem hear: “Dem sound comot go reach all di earth, dem words reach di ends of di world.”
19But I dey ask, Israel no know? First Moses talk say: “I go make you jealous with people wey no be nation, I go vex you with nation wey no get understanding.”
20Isaiah get liver reach to talk say, “Na dose wey no dey look for me find me; I show myself to dose wey no dey ask for me.”
21But about Israel e talk say, “Di whole day I stretch out my hands to people wey dey stubborn and dey do anyhow.”
