Judges 19

19 ¹For dat time, Israel no get king. One Levite man wey dey stay for di far-far hill country of Ephraim take one concubine from Bethlehem for Judah. ²Im concubine no dey faithful to am, she comot leave am go her papa house for Bethlehem, Judah, and she stay dia for four months. ³Her husband come waka go find her, make e fit talk sweet-sweet to her heart and bring her back, and e carry im servant plus two donkey. She bring am go her papa house, and di girl papa glad well-well wen e see am. ⁴Im father-in-law, di girl papa, beg am make e stay, so e remain wit am for three days; dem chop, drink, and sleep dia.

⁵For di fourth day dem wake up early, and e stand up wan comot. But di girl papa tell im son-in-law, "Chop small bread first, den you go go." ⁶Di two of dem sidon, chop, drink togeda. Di girl papa tell di man, "Abeg, stay dis night make your heart happy." ⁷Di man stand up wan comot, but im father-in-law press am, so e come sleep dia again dat night. ⁸For di fifth day e wake up early wan comot; di girl papa talk, "Abeg, refresh yourself first, and wait sotay afternoon." So di two of dem chop. ⁹As di man stand up wan go, wit im concubine and im servant, im father-in-law, di girl papa, talk, "See, di day don almost finish; stay dis night. See, e dey end; sleep here make you enjoy yourself. Tomorrow wake up early, waka, and go your house." ¹⁰But di man no gree stay dat night; e stand up, comot, and reach di front of Jebus (wey na Jerusalem), wit im two donkey wey e don pack load for back, and im concubine. ¹¹Wen dem near Jebus, and daylight don almost finish, di servant tell im oga, "Come, abeg, make we turn enta dis Jebusite city and sleep for dia."

¹²Im oga answer, "We no go turn enta foreign city wey no be Israel own; we go continue go Gibeah." ¹³E tell im servant, "Come, make we reach one of dis places and sleep for Gibeah or Ramah." ¹⁴So dem continue dia waka, and di sun set on dem near Gibeah for Benjamin land. ¹⁵Dem turn enta Gibeah make dem sleep dia. E enta and sidon for di city square, but nobody carry dem enta im house make dem sleep.

¹⁶One old man come from farm work for evening time. E be from di hill country of Ephraim, but e dey stay for Gibeah as foreigner; di people of dat place na Benjamin people. ¹⁷Di old man look up, see di traveler for di city square, and ask, "Which side you dey go? Where you comot?"

¹⁸E tell am, "We dey waka from Bethlehem for Judah go di far hill country of Ephraim—na dia be my home. I bin go Bethlehem for Judah, and now I dey go di house of our Papa, but nobody carry me enta im house. ¹⁹We get straw and feed for our donkey, and bread and wine sef for me, for your maidservant, and for di young man wey dey wit your servants. We no lack anytin."

²⁰Di old man talk, "Peace dey wit you. I go supply everytin wey you need; only make you no sleep for di square." ²¹So e carry am go im house, feed di donkey, and dem wash dia leg, chop, and drink.

²²As dem dey enjoy dem self, na so some useless men of di city surround di house, dey knock di door hard-hard. Dem shout give di old man wey own di house, "Bring out di man wey enta your house, make we fit sleep wit am!"

²³Di man wey own di house come out go meet dem and talk, "No o, my brodas, abeg make una no do dis wickedness, since dis man don enta my house; make una no do dis shameful tin. ²⁴See my daughter wey never know man, and im concubine—make I bring dem out. Do wetin una wan do wit dem, do wetin sweet una, but make una no do dis shameful tin to dis man."

²⁵But di men no gree hear. So di man grab im concubine and push her comot give dem; dem rape and abuse her di whole night sotay morning, den dem release her. ²⁶Wen day dey break, di woman come fall down for di door of di man house, where her oga dey, sotay daylight. ²⁷For morning her oga wake up, open di house door, come out wan continue im waka—na so im concubine lie down, don fall for di house entrance, wit her hand for di doormouth. ²⁸E tell her, "Stand up, make we go." No answer. So e put her on di donkey and comot go im house.

²⁹Wen e reach house e take knife, grab im concubine, cut her body part by part into twelve piece, and send am go every part of Israel land. ³⁰Everybody wey see am talk, "Dis kind tin never happen or never dey seen since Israel comot from Egypt sotay today. Think about am, tok about am, and talk."
