When David see say Saul don follow am enter di wilderness, ⁴e send people go check tins, and dem come sabi say Saul don really reach. ⁵David waka go di place wey Saul camp, and e see where Saul lie down with Abner pikin of Ner, wey be di oga of im army. Saul lie down for inside di camp, and im sojas surround am. ⁶David ask Ahimelech di Hittite man, and Abishai pikin of Zeruiah, wey be Joab broda, "Who go go down with me go Saul camp?" Abishai talk say, "I go go down with you."

⁷So David and Abishai reach di sojas for night. Saul lie down dey sleep for inside di camp, im spear stick for ground for im head side, and Abner with di sojas dey surround am. ⁸Abishai tell David, "Our Papa don put your enemy for your hand today. So make I strike am put for ground with one spear—I no go need to strike am di second time."

⁹But David tell Abishai, "No kill am! Who fit raise hand against di person wey our Papa anoint and remain without wrong?" ¹⁰David talk say, "As our Papa dey alive, na our Papa go strike am, abi im day go reach and e go die, abi e go enter war and dem go destroy am. ¹¹E no go ever happen, for front of our Papa, make I raise my hand against di person wey our Papa anoint. Now, carry di spear wey dey im head side, and di water jug, make we dey go."

¹²So David carry di spear and di water jug from Saul head side; and dem comot. Nobody see dem, nobody know, and nobody wake, because deep sleep from our Papa don fall on all of dem.

¹³Den David cross go di oda side and stand for top one hill wey dey far, with plenty space between dem. ¹⁴E call di sojas and Abner pikin of Ner: "Abner, you no go answer?" Abner reply, "Who be you, wey dey call di king?"

¹⁵David tell Abner, "No be man you be? Who be like you for Israel? Why you no guard your oga di king? Person come wan kill di king, your oga. ¹⁶Wetin you do no correct at all. Wetin I do, wetin be di wrong wey dey my hand? ¹⁹Make my oga di king hear di words of im servant: if na our Papa turn you against me, make e accept offering; but if na people do am, make dem carry curse for im front—because today dem don drive me comot from my own share for im inheritance, dey talk say, 'Go, serve oda gods.' ²⁰No make my blood fall for ground, far from where our Papa dey—di king of Israel come out to hunt one ordinary flea, like person wey dey chase partridge bird for mountain."

²¹Saul talk say, "I don sin. Come back, David my pikin. I no go ever harm you again, since my life dey precious for your eye today. I don be fool, and I don do big mistake."

²²David answer, "Na di king spear be dis. Make one young man come carry am. ²³Na our Papa dey pay everybody back for dem correct-and-holy way and dem faithfulness. Today, e put you for my hand, but I no gree raise my hand against di person wey e anoint. ²⁴As I take your life count big today, make our Papa take my life count big too, and rescue me from all trouble."

²⁵Saul tell David, "Blessing dey on you, my pikin David—you go do great tins, and for sure, you go win." David waka go im way; and Saul go back im house.
