Mark 8

Chapter 8.

8 ¹For those days, plenty crowd gather again wey no get anything to chop. Jesus call im disciples come, e talk say,

²"My belle dey pain me for dis crowd—dem don dey with me for three days now, and dem no get anything to chop. ³If I send dem go house with hunger, dem go faint for road—some of dem come from far place."

⁴Im disciples answer am say, "How person go take find bread feed all dis people here for dis wilderness?"

⁵E ask dem say, "How many bread una get?" Dem talk say, "Seven."

⁶E tell di crowd make dem siddon for ground, e take di seven bread, e give thanks, e break dem, e give im disciples make dem share give di people; and dem share am give di crowd. ⁷Dem still get small fish too; after e don bless dem, e tell di disciples make dem share dese ones give di people. ⁸Dem chop and dem belleful. And dem gather seven basket full of di pieces wey remain. ⁹Around four thousand people dey there. And e send dem comot.

¹⁰Then sharp-sharp e enter di boat with im disciples, e go di area of Dalmanutha.

Generation Wey Dey Demand Sign

¹¹Di Pharisee people come, dem start to dey argue with am, dem dey test am as dem dey demand sign from heaven.

¹²As e sigh deep-deep for im spirit, e talk say, "Why dis generation dey demand sign? Trueki I tell una, dem no go give dis generation any sign."

¹³And e leave dem, e enter di boat again, e cross go di other side.

Make Una Watch Out for di Yeast of di Pharisee People

¹⁴Dem don forget to carry bread—na only one bread dey with dem for di boat.

¹⁵And e warn dem say, "Make una watch out—make una beware of di yeast of di Pharisee people and di yeast of Herod."

¹⁶And dem start to dey talk among demsef say na because dem no get bread.

¹⁷As Jesus sabi wetin dey dem mind, e ask say, "Why una dey talk about say una no get bread? Una still no dey see or understand? Una heart don hard? ¹⁸Una get eye, una no dey see? Una get ear, una no dey hear? And una no dey remember? ¹⁹When I break di five bread for di five thousand, how many basket full of pieces una gather?" Dem talk say, "Twelve."

²⁰"And when I break di seven for di four thousand, how many basket full of broken pieces una gather?" Dem talk say, "Seven."

²¹And e tell dem say, "Una still no understand?"

One Blind Man See Again

²²Dem reach Bethsaida, di place wey people bring one blind man give am, dem beg Jesus make e touch di man.

²³E take di blind man hand, e lead am comot for di village, e spit for im eye, e put hand for am, and e ask say, "You dey see anything?"

²⁴E look up, e talk say, "I dey see people, but dem look like tree wey dey waka."

²⁵Then Jesus put im hand for di man eye again; di man look well-well, e come better, and e see everything clear-clear.

²⁶And e send am go house, e talk say, "No even enter di village."

Who Una Talk Say I Be?

²⁷Jesus and im disciples go di villages of Caesarea Philippi. For road e ask dem say, "Who people dey talk say I be?"

²⁸Dem tell am say, "John di Baptist; some talk say Elijah; and others say na one of di prophets."

²⁹Then e ask dem say, "But una—who una talk say I be?" Peter answer say, "Na you be di Christ."

³⁰And e warn dem strong-strong make dem no tell anybody about am.

The Pikin of Man Must Suffer

³⁴E call di crowd and im disciples, e tell dem say, "Anybody wey wan follow me must deny imsef, carry im cross, and follow me. ³⁵Anybody wey wan save im life go lose am; but anybody wey lose im life because of me and di good news go save am. ³⁶Wetin e go profit person to gain di whole world and lose im soul? ³⁷Abi wetin person fit give to buy back im soul? ³⁸Because anybody wey shame of me and my words for dis adulterous, sinful generation—di Pikin of Man go shame of am too when e come for im Papa glory with di holy angels."
