Acts 22

22 ¹"My brothers and my fathers, make una listen to di tin wey I wan talk now to defend mysef for una front." ²When dem hear am dey talk to dem for Hebrew language, dem come quiet well well. And e talk say:

⁴I persecute dis Way sotay pesin fit die, I bin dey tie men and women, dey carry dem go throway for prison, ⁵as di high priest and di whole council of di elder dem fit talk am well. Na from dem I collect letters give di brothers for Damascus, and I go dey there so I go carry dem wey dey there as prisoners come Jerusalem come punish dem."

⁶"As I dey travel dey near Damascus around afternoon time, na so one big light from heaven come flash sharp sharp round me."

⁷I fall for ground and I hear one voice dey tell me, "Saul, Saul, why you dey persecute me?"

⁸I answer say, "Na who be you, Oga?" E reply say, "Na me be Jesus of Nazareth, di one wey you dey persecute."

⁹"Di people wey dey with me see di light but dem no understand di voice of di one wey dey talk to me."

¹⁰I talk say, "Oga, wetin I go do?" Oga reply say, "Stand up go inside Damascus. Na there dem go tell you everytin wey dem don appoint you to do."

¹¹"Since di brightness of dat light don blind me, my companion dem come hold my hand lead me enter Damascus."

¹²"One man wey dem dey call Ananias, wey dey fear God well well according to di law, and wey all di Jew people wey dey live there dey talk good about, ¹³come stand near me and talk say, 'Brother Saul, make your eye open see again.' Na dat same hour I look up come see am."

²³And as dem dey shout dey throway dem cloth and dey throw sand for air, ²⁴di commander order say make dem carry am enter di barracks come flog am, so e go fit sabi why dem dey shout against am like dis.

²⁵As dem stretch am out for di flogging strap dem, Paul talk to di centurion wey dey stand there say, "E dey correct for law say make you flog Roman citizen wey dem never judge?"

²⁶When di centurion hear dis one, e go meet di commander come report am say: "Wetin be dis tin wey you wan do? Dis man na Roman citizen."

²⁷So di commander come ask am, "Tell me, you be Roman citizen?" E say, "Yes."

²⁸Di commander talk say, "Na plenty money I pay before I take become citizen." But Paul talk say, "Na born-born citizen I be."

²⁹So di people wey wan question am comot for im body sharp sharp; and fear catch di commander when e realize say na Roman citizen e don tie. ³⁰Di next day, di commander wan sabi tru tru why di Jew people dey accuse am, so e loose Paul, order di chief priest dem and di whole council make dem gather, come bring Paul come down, come make am stand for dem front.
