Psalms 17

17 ¹ My Papa, hear my case wey dey correct; make You listen to my cry; hear my prayer wey comot for mouth wey no get lie. ² Make my judgement comot from where You dey; make Your eyes see wetin dey correct.

³ You don search my heart, You don check me for night, You don test me and no find anytin; I don make up my mind say my mouth no go sin. ⁴ For wetin people dey do, na by di word wey comot for Your mouth I take keep myself comot for di road of wicked people wey dey do violence. ⁵ My leg dey hold tight for Your road; my foot no slip.

⁶ I dey call You, because You go answer me, my Papa; make You listen to me; hear my words. ⁷ Show di wonder of Your Covenant love, You wey dey save with Your right hand dem wey dey run come hide for You comot for dia enemies. ⁸ Keep me like di apple of Your eye; hide me for di shadow of Your wings ⁹ comot for di wicked people wey dey attack me, my enemies wey wan kill me wey surround me.

¹⁰ Dem don close dia hard heart; dia mouth dey talk with pride. ¹¹ Dem don track us reach and now dem don surround us; dem fix dia eyes to throw us for ground. ¹² E be like lion wey hungry to tear di animal wey e catch, like young lion wey crouch dey wait for ambush.

¹³ Rise up, my Papa! Face am, bring am down! Save my life comot for di wicked one with Your sword, ¹⁴ with Your hand, my Papa, comot for dis kind people — comot for people of dis world wey dia reward dey for dis life. You fill dia belle with wetin You don store keep; dia pikin dem get plenty, and dem leave dia plenty tins for dia small pikin dem.

¹⁵ But as for me, I go see Your face for correct-and-holy way; when I wake, I go satisfy to see how You be.
