⁵Den Jehoshaphat stand up for di assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, for our Papa im house, in front of di new courtyard. ⁶E talk say: “O our Papa, God of our great-grandpapa dem, no be you be our Papa for heaven? You dey rule all di kingdom of di nations. Power and strength dey for your hand; nobody fit stand against you. ⁷Our Papa, no be you drive di people of dis land comot before your people Israel, and you give am forever to di pikin-pikin of Abraham your friend? ⁸Dem don live inside am and don build one holy place inside am for your name, dem talk say, ⁹if trouble come meet us—sword of judgment, sickness, or hunger—we go stand before dis house and before you, because your name dey for dis house, and we go cry to you for our trouble, and you go hear and save us. ¹⁰Now: Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir—you no gree make Israel enter dem when dem come from Egypt; Israel turn comot from dem and no destroy dem. ¹¹See how dem dey pay us back, dem dey come drive us comot from di property wey you give us to inherit. ¹²Our Papa, you no go judge dem? We no get power against dis plenty-plenty army wey dey come against us; we no know wetin we go do, but our eye dey on you.”

¹³All Judah stand there before our Papa, wit dem small pikin dem, dem wife dem, and dem children dem.

¹⁵E talk say: “Listen, all Judah, everybody wey dey live for Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat. ¹⁸Jehoshaphat bow im face reach ground, and all Judah and di people of Jerusalem fall down dey worship before our Papa. ¹⁹Den di Levite dem from di Kohath and Korah people stand up to praise our Papa, di God of Israel, wit loud voice wey dem lift up high.

²⁰For early morning dem comot go di wilderness of Tekoa. As dem dey comot, Jehoshaphat stand and talk say, “Hear me, Judah and una wey dey Jerusalem. Trust your Papa and una go stand firm; trust im prophet dem and una go succeed.”

²¹After e take advice from di people, Jehoshaphat appoint singer dem give our Papa to praise im holy glory, dem dey march before di army: “Give thanks give our Papa, because im love wey no dey change dey last forever.” ²²As dem start to sing and praise, our Papa set ambush against di Ammon people, di Moab people, and di people of Mount Seir wey bin dey attack Judah, and dem knack dem down. ²³Ammon and Moab turn against di people of Mount Seir to destroy and finish dem; once di people of Seir don finish, Ammon and Moab turn kill demself.

²⁴When Judah reach di lookout for di wilderness and look towards di plenty-plenty army, na only dead body dem see wey don fall for ground—nobody escape. ²⁵Jehoshaphat and im people come collect di loot from di dead, dem find plenty goods, cloth, and valuable things—too much to carry, so e take dem three days to gada am.

²⁶For di fourth day, dem gada for di Valley of Beracah and praise our Papa there—na so dem take name am Valley of Beracah till today. ^a a v26 Di name Beracah mean “blessing” — dem name di valley for di praise wey Judah lift up give our Papa there. ²⁷All di men of Judah and Jerusalem, wit Jehoshaphat dey lead dem, come back there wit joy, because our Papa give dem joy over dem enemy dem. ²⁸Dem enter Jerusalem wit harp, lyre, and trumpet, and dem go di house of our Papa. ²⁹Fear of our Papa fall on all di kingdom dem wey dey surround dem when dem hear say our Papa fight di enemy dem of Israel. ³⁰So Jehoshaphat im kingdom get peace, because im Papa give am rest for evri side.

One King Wey Follow our Papa im Way

³¹Jehoshaphat rule over Judah, dem crown am when e be thirty-five years, and e rule twenty-five years for Jerusalem; im mama na Azubah, pikin of Shilhi. ³²E waka for im papa Asa im way, e no turn comot from am, e dey do wetin correct for our Papa im eye. ³³But still di high place dem remain; di people neva set dem heart on di God of dem great-grandpapa dem.
