17 ¹Afta David settle for im house, e tell Nathan di prophet say, “Look, I dey live for cedar house, but di ark of our Papa im Covenant dey under tent curtain.”

⁷So tell my servant David say: “Na dis di Papa wey be Oga of di army for heaven talk: I take you comot from di grass field, from di place wey you dey follow sheep, make you be ruler ova my people Israel. ⁸I dey wit you for everywhere wey you go, and I don cut off all your enemy for your front. Now I go make your name be like di name of di big-big people for di earth. ⁹I go choose place for my people Israel and plant dem for dia, make dem live for dia own home, wey nobody go disturb again. Wicked people no go worry dem again like before, ¹⁰since di time wey I put judges ova my people Israel, I go conquer all your enemy. I dey tell you: your Papa go build house for you. ¹¹Wen your days end and you go join your papa-papa dem, I go raise your pikin wey go come afta you, one of your sons, and I go establish im kingdom. ¹²Na im go build house for me, and I go establish im throne forever. ¹³I go be im Papa; e go be my son. I no go take my Covenant love comot from am like how I take am comot from di one wey dey before you. ¹⁴I go put am ova my house and my kingdom forever; im throne go stand strong forever.”
