Zechariah 2

2 ¹ Then I looked up and saw a man with a measuring line in his hand. ² I asked, "Where are you going?" He said to me, "To measure Jerusalem, to see how wide and how long it is."

³ The angel speaking with me left, and another angel came out to meet him ⁴ and said to him, "Run, tell this young man: 'Jerusalem will settle like open country, with so many people and livestock in her.'

⁵ I myself will be a wall of fire around her, declares our Father, and I will be the glory within her.'"

⁶ Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north, declares our Father, for I scattered you like the four winds of heaven, declares our Father. ⁷ Come, Zion! Escape, you who live with the daughter of Babylon.

⁸ This is what the Father of heaven's armies says — after his glory sent me against the nations who plundered you: whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye: ⁹ For look, I will wave my hand over them, and they will become plunder for those who served them. Then you will know the Father of heaven's armies sent me.

¹⁰ Sing and rejoice, daughter of Zion! For look, I am coming to live among you, declares our Father. ¹¹ Many nations will join our Father that day and become my children. I will live among you, and you will know the Father of heaven's armies sent me to you. ¹² And our Father will claim Judah as his portion in the holy land, and again choose Jerusalem.

¹³ Be silent, all flesh, before our Father, for he stirs himself from his holy dwelling.
