Job Answer our Papa
Job talk say e talk about things wey e no understand; before na im ear hear, now im eye don see, and e repent for dust and ashes. Then our Papa tell the friends say dem talk wrong, and Job pray for dem. Im fortune double, im family come back.
42 1Den Job answer our Papa: 2"I know say You fit do everytin, and say nobody fit spoil any plan wey You get. 3You ask, ‘Who be dis wey dey cover my counsel wit talk wey no get sense?’ Na true, I talk about tins wey I no understand, tins wey too wonderful pass me, wey I no know. 4You talk say, ‘Hear now, and I go talk; I go ask You question, and You must answer me.’ 5My ear don hear about You before, but now my eye don see You. a a v5 Na only hear Job hear about God before; now e dey see our Papa face to face, and dat picture of God as somebody wey dey far don comot forever. 6Na why I dey take my word back, and I dey repent for inside dust and ashes."
Mercy for di Three Friends
7Afta our Papa don talk dis words give Job, E tell Eliphaz di Temanite man say, "My vex dey burn against you and your two friends, because una no talk correct tin about Me, di way my servant Job talk. b b v7 Di friends talk about God like say na deity wey dey far, wey dey collect account; but Job, for inside all im pain and im cry, no stop to dey reach toward our Papa — and our Papa honour am. 8So now take seven bulls and seven rams go meet my servant Job, and offer dem as burnt offering for una sef. My servant Job go pray for una, and I go accept im prayer and I no go treat una accordin to una foolishness. Because una no talk correct tin about Me, di way my servant Job talk."
9So Eliphaz di Temanite man, Bildad di Shuhite man, and Zophar di Naamathite man go and do wetin our Papa tell dem, and our Papa accept Job im prayer.
10And wen Job pray for im friends, our Papa bring back im better tins, and give am double of wetin e get before. 11Den all im brothers and sisters and everybody wey know am before come and chop bread wit am for im house. Dem console am and comfort am ova all di trouble wey our Papa bring on am, and each person give am one piece of silver and one gold ring.
12Our Papa bless Job im later years pass im early ones. E get 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 pairs of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys. 13E get seven sons and three daughters too. 14E name di first daughter Jemimah, di second Keziah, and di third Keren-happuch. c c v14 Di daughters dia names dey celebrate beauty and joy wey come back: Jemimah mean ‘dove,’ Keziah mean ‘cinnamon,’ and Keren-happuch mean ‘horn of eye cosmetics.’ 15For all di land, no woman fine reach Job im daughters, and dia papa give dem inheritance together wit dia brothers. d d v15 For di ancient world, daughters no dey often collect inheritance together wit sons — Job im gift to dem na extraordinary act of grace and equality. 16Afta dis, Job live 140 years, and e see im children and im children dia children, four generations. 17So Job die, e don old well-well and e don full wit days.
