Ezekiel 3

3 ¹E tell me, “Pikin of Man, chop wetin you see. Chop dis scroll, then go talk to di house of Israel.”

²So I open my mouth, and e give me dis scroll make I chop.

³E tell me, “Pikin of Man, feed your belle and full your inside with dis scroll wey I dey give you.” I chop am, and for my mouth e sweet like honey.

⁴Then e tell me, “Pikin of Man, go to di house of Israel go talk my words give dem.

⁵“Because I no send you to people wey their talk deep and their language hard, but to di house of Israel, ⁶no be to plenty people wey their talk deep and their language hard wey you no fit understand their words. True true, if I bin send you go meet dem, dem for don listen to you. ⁷But di house of Israel no go gree listen to you, because dem no gree listen to me; because all di house of Israel dey hard-head and their heart stubborn. ⁸See, I don make your face hard like their own face, your forehead hard like their forehead. ⁹I don make your forehead hard like di hardest stone, harder pass flint. No fear dem or make their face shake you, because dem be house wey dey rebel.”

¹⁰E tell me, “Pikin of Man, take all my words wey I dey talk to you put for your heart and hear dem with your ear. ¹¹Go to di people wey dem carry go exile, your own people, go talk to dem. Tell dem say, ‘Na so di Sovereign Papa talk,’ whether dem listen or dem refuse to listen.”

¹²Then di Spirit of our Papa lift me up, and for my back I hear one big sound wey dey rush: “Make dem praise di glory of our Papa from di place wey e dey stay!” ¹³na di sound of di wings of di living creatures wey dey touch each other, and di sound of di wheels wey dey for their side, one big sound wey dey rush. ¹⁴Di Spirit lift me up carry me go, and I comot with bitter heart, my spirit dey burn inside me, di hand of our Papa strong for my body. ¹⁵I come reach di exiles for Tel-abib for di side of di Chebar canal, and I sidon among dem for there, my mind heavy, seven days.

Di Papa Choose Watchman

¹⁶After di seven days, di word of our Papa come to me:

¹⁷“Pikin of Man, I don make you watchman for di house of Israel. When you hear word from my mouth, warn dem for me. ¹⁸If I tell di wicked person say, ‘You go surely die,’ and you no warn am or talk out to warn di wicked person comot from im wicked way so im life fit save, dat wicked man go die for im sin, but na your hand I go hold for im blood.

¹⁹“But if you warn di wicked person and e no turn comot from im evil or im evil way, e go die for im sin, but you don save your own life.

²⁰“Again, when person wey get correct-and-holy way turn comot from im correct-and-holy way come do wrong, and I put something wey go make am stumble for im front, e go die. Since you no warn am, e go die for im sin, and dem no go remember di correct-and-holy things wey e do, and na your hand I go hold for im blood. ²¹But if you warn di person wey get correct-and-holy way make e no sin, and e no sin, e go live because e hear di warning, and you don save your own life.”

²³So I stand up go di valley, and na there di glory of our Papa dey stand, like di glory wey I see for di side of di Chebar canal, and I fall face down.

²⁴Di Spirit enter me, make me stand for my leg, talk with me, and e say: “Go, lock yourself inside your house. ²⁵And you, Pikin of Man, dem go tie rope for your body come bind you with am, so you no go fit comot go among di people.

²⁶I go make your tongue stick for di roof of your mouth; you no go fit talk, you no go fit correct dem, because dem be house wey dey rebel. ²⁷But when I talk with you, I go open your mouth, and you go tell dem, ‘Na so di Sovereign Papa talk.’ Whoever wan listen, make e listen; and whoever wan refuse, make e refuse—because dem be house wey dey rebel.”
