19 ¹Poor person wey dey waka for im honest way better pass person wey im mouth crooked and na fool. ²Also, to wan sometin wey you no get knowledge no good, and person wey dey rush dey miss road. ³Na person im own foolishness dey spoil im way, yet im heart dey vex against our Papa. ⁴Money dey add plenty friend, but dem dey comot poor person from im friend. ⁵Lie-lie witness no go escape punishment, and person wey dey blow lie no go run comot. ⁶Plenty people dey find favour from person wey get open hand, and everybody na friend to person wey dey give gift. ⁷All di brothers of poor person dey hate am; how much more im friends dey stay far from am! E dey call dem, but dem don go. ⁸Person wey get wisdom love im own soul; person wey dey guard understanding go find better tin. ⁹Lie-lie witness no go escape punishment, and person wey dey blow lie go perish. ¹⁰Enjoyment no fit fool—much less say servant go rule over princes. ¹¹Person im good sense dey make am slow to vex, and na im glory to overlook wrong wey dem do am. ¹²King im anger be like lion wey dey roar, but im favour be like dew for grass. ¹³Foolish son na ruin for im papa, and wife wey dey quarrel be like water wey dey drip drip nonstop. ¹⁴House and money na inheritance wey person get from im forefathers, but wife wey get sense na from our Papa. ¹⁵Laziness dey throw person into deep sleep, and person wey dey idle go hungry. ¹⁶Person wey dey keep di commandment dey keep im life; person wey dey despise im ways go die. ¹⁷Person wey dey open hand give poor person dey lend to our Papa, and our Papa go pay am back for wetin e do. ¹⁸Correct your son while hope still dey, and no set your heart to destroy am. ¹⁹Person wey get plenty anger must pay di price; because if you rescue am, you go just do am again. ²⁰Listen to counsel and accept correction, so that you fit gain wisdom for di days wey dey come. ²¹Plenty na di plans wey dey person im heart, but na di counsel of our Papa go stand. ²²Wetin dem dey wan see for person na Covenant love, and poor person better pass liar. ²³Di fear of our Papa dey lead to life, and person wey get am dey rest satisfy, no harm go touch am. ²⁴Lazy person dey bury im hand for di plate, and e no go even carry am go back to im mouth. ²⁵Beat person wey dey mock, and di simple one go learn sense; correct person wey get understanding, and e go gain knowledge. ²⁶Person wey dey do im papa violence and dey drive im mama comot na son wey dey bring shame and disgrace. ²⁷My son, if you stop to listen to instruction, you go stray comot from di words of knowledge. ²⁸Witness wey no worth anytin dey mock justice, and di mouth of wicked people dey swallow wickedness anyhow. ²⁹Dem don prepare punishment for people wey dey mock, and beating for di back of fools.
