Exodus 20

20 ¹Den our Papa talk all dis words:

²"Na me be your Papa, wey bring you comot from Egypt land, comot from di house of slavery.

³"No make any oda gods dey before me.

⁴"No carve any image for yourself, or any tin wey resemble wetin dey for heaven up, for earth down, or for water under di earth. ⁵No bow down give dem or serve dem; me, your Papa, na jealous Papa, wey dey bring di sin of papa-and-mama fall on di pikin dem reach di third and fourth generation of dem wey hate me, ⁶but I dey show Covenant love give thousands of dem wey love me and dey keep my commandments.

⁷"No take your Papa name do wayo, because our Papa no go leave anybody wey take im name do wayo without punishment.

⁸"Remember di Sabbath day, make you keep am holy. ⁹Six days you go work and do all your work, ¹⁰but di seventh day na Sabbath to your Papa. No do any work for am—you, your son, your daughter, your servant man or woman, your animals, or di stranger wey dey inside your gate. ¹¹Because for six days our Papa make di heaven, di earth, di sea, and everytin wey dey inside dem, den e rest for di seventh day; so our Papa bless di Sabbath day and make am holy.

¹²"Respect your papa and your mama, so dat your days go long for di land wey your Papa dey give you.

¹³"No kill person.

¹⁴"No do adultery.

¹⁵"No tif.

¹⁶"No talk lie against your neighbour.

¹⁷"No crave your neighbour im house. No crave your neighbour im wife, im servant man or woman, im ox or donkey, or anytin wey be your neighbour own."

¹⁸All di people see di thunder, di lightning wey dey flash, di trumpet blast, and di mountain wey dey smoke. As dem see am, dem shake and stand far.

¹⁹Dem tell Moses, "Na you talk with us, and we go listen. But make our Papa no talk with us, if not we go die."

²⁰Moses tell di people, "No fear; our Papa don come to test una, so dat im fear go remain with una, and una no go sin." ²¹Di people stay back, while Moses draw near di thick darkness where our Papa dey.

²²Den our Papa tell Moses, "Tell di Israelites: Una don see with una own eye say I don talk with una from heaven. ²³No make gods of silver put beside me, and no make gods of gold for una self. ²⁴Make altar of earth for me, and for am sacrifice your burnt offerings and peace offerings, your sheep and cattle. Anywhere wey I make dem remember my name, I go come to you and bless you. ²⁵If you make altar of stone for me, no build am with stone wey dem cut, because if you use your tool for am you go spoil am. ²⁶No climb steps go my altar, so dat your nakedness no go show for am."
