Deuteronomy 12

12 ¹Na these statutes and judgments be the ones wey you must keep well-well for di land wey our Papa, di God of your fathers, don give you make you own am, all di days wey you go dey live for earth. ²Make you scatter completely every place wey di nations wey you dey drive comot serve their gods—for di high mountains, di hills, and under every green tree. ³Break down their altars, smash their sacred pillars, burn their Asherah poles; cut down di carved images of their gods, and wipe out their name from that place. ^a a v3 Asherah poles na wooden cult objects wey dem carve for di Canaanite goddess Asherah, wey dem set up for pagan worship places. ⁴You no must worship your Papa for that kind way. ⁵Instead, make you find di place wey your Papa go choose from all your tribes make e put im name and make im home there; na there you must come. ⁶Na there make you bring your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tenth and di contribution of your hand, your vow offerings and voluntary offerings, and di firstborn of your herd and flock. ⁷Na there, before your Papa, you and your households go chop and rejoice for all wey you put your hand do, because your Papa don bless you. ⁸You no must do like how we dey do here today, wia each person dey do wetin correct for im own eyes. ⁹Because you never reach di rest and di inheritance wey your Papa dey give you. ¹⁰But when you cross di Jordan and settle for di land wey your Papa dey give you make you inherit am, and e give you rest from all your enemies wey dey around you so you go dey live for safety, ¹¹then na di place wey your Papa choose make im settle im name, na there make you bring all wey I command you: your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tenth and di contribution of your hand, and all di choice vow offerings wey you vow to your Papa. ¹²Rejoice before your Papa—you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, and di Levite wey dey for your towns, since e no get portion or inheritance with you. ¹³Take care make you no offer your burnt offerings for every place wey you see, ¹⁴but na only for di place wey your Papa choose, for one of your tribes; na there make you offer your burnt offerings, and na there make you do all wey I command you.

¹⁵But you fit slaughter and chop meat for all your towns, wetin your body want, according to di blessing wey your Papa don give you. Di unclean and di clean person fit chop am, like di gazelle and di deer. ¹⁶Na only di blood you no must chop; pour am for ground like water. ¹⁷You no fit chop for your towns di tenth of your grain, new wine, or oil, or di firstborn of your herd or flock, or any of your vow offerings, your voluntary offerings, or di contribution of your hand. ¹⁸Instead, make you chop dem before your Papa for di place wey e choose—you, your son and daughter, your male and female servant, and di Levite wey dey for your towns; and rejoice before am for all wey you put hand do. ¹⁹Take care make you no abandon di Levite as long as you dey live for your land.

²⁰When your Papa make your territory big pass as e promise you, and you talk say, “I go chop meat,” because your soul want meat, you fit chop meat as your soul desire. ²¹If di place wey your Papa go choose make im put im name there far too much from you, you fit slaughter from di herd and flock wey your Papa don give you, as I command you, and chop for your towns as you desire. ²²Just as person dey chop di gazelle and di deer, na so you fit chop am; unclean and clean person fit chop am. ²³Na only make you make up your mind well-well say you no go chop di blood, because di blood na di life; no chop di life with di meat. ²⁴You no must chop am; you go pour am comot for ground like water. ²⁵No chop am, so e go dey well with you and your children after you, when you do wetin correct for your Papa eyes. ²⁶But carry your holy things and your vow offerings go di place wey your Papa go choose. ²⁷Present your burnt offerings—di meat and di blood—for di altar of your Papa. Pour di blood of your sacrifices beside di altar of your Papa, and chop di meat. ²⁸Obey well-well all these words wey I command you, so e go dey well with you and your children after you forever, when you do wetin good and correct for your Papa eyes.

²⁹When your Papa cut off before you di nations wey you dey go drive comot, and you drive dem comot and settle for their land, ³⁰take care make you no fall inside trap to follow their ways after dem don destroy dem before you, and no ask about their gods say, “How these nations take serve their gods? I go do di same thing.” ³¹No worship your Papa for that kind way, because dem do for their gods every detestable thing wey your Papa hate—even to dey burn their sons and daughters for fire to their gods. ³²Take care make you do everything wey I command you; no add anything to am, no take anything comot from am.
