Chapter 11.

For spring time, wen kings dey commot go war, David send Joab, im men, an all Israel. Dem scatter di Ammonite people an surround Rabbah. But David stay for Jerusalem. One evening David wake comot from im bed, dey waka for di roof of di king house. From dia e see one woman wey dey bath; di woman fine wella. David send person go ask about di woman. Somebody tok say, “No be Bathsheba be dis, di pikin of Eliam, wife of Uriah di Hittite man?”

David send messengers go carry am. She come meet am, an e sleep wit am—she just don clean herself from her uncleanness—an she go back house. a a v4 Moses law say make woman do purification ceremony afta her monthly period bifor she fit go back to her normal life (see Lev. 15:19–28). David tok give Uriah, “Go down go your house, wash your leg.” Uriah commot for di palace, an di king send gift follow am go. Uriah tok give David, “Di ark, Israel, an Judah dey stay inside tent, an my oga Joab wit di men of my oga dey camp for open field. Abi I go go house go chop, drink, an sleep wit my wife? As you dey alive, an as your soul dey alive, I no go do dis kind ting.”

David tok give Uriah, “Stay for here today sef, an tomorrow I go send you go back.” So Uriah stay for Jerusalem dat day an di next day. David call am, an e chop an drink wit am, an David make am drunk. But dat evening Uriah commot go sleep for im mat wit di servants of im oga; e no go house.

For morning David write letter give Joab, an give am Uriah make e carry go. E write inside di letter say: “Put Uriah for front wia di fight strong pass, den una pull back leave am, so dat dem go strike am make e die.”

As Joab dey surround di city, e put Uriah for di place wia e sabi say di strong-strong soldiers dey. Di men of di city commot come fight Joab, an some of David servants fall. Uriah di Hittite man sef die. Den Joab send word tell David all di news of di battle. Di messenger tell David, “Di men get power pass us an commot come face us for di field, but we push dem back reach di door of di gate. Di bow-shooters shoot your servants from di wall, an some of di king servants die. Your servant Uriah di Hittite man sef don die.”

David tok give di messenger, “Tell Joab: ‘No make dis ting worry you, becos di sword dey chop dis one an dat one di same way. Attack di city hard pass, scatter am.’ Encourage am.”

Wen di wife of Uriah hear say Uriah her husband don die, she cry mourn for her husband. Wen di mourning finish, David send call am, carry am come house, an she become im wife an born am one son. But di ting wey David do bad for di eyes of our Papa.
