You Don Die to Sin, You Dey Alive to our Papa
If grace cover everytin, why we no go just dey sin anyhow? Paul answer no be rule but death: baptism join us to Christ death, so to go back to sin mean to return to grave wey we don already comot. Give your body to our Papa — anytin wey you obey, na im you go serve.
6 1So, wetin we go talk? We go continue to dey sin so that grace go increase? 2God forbid! How we wey don die to sin fit still dey live inside am? 3Abi una no sabi say all of us wey dem baptize into Christ Jesus, na into im death dem baptize us? 4So dem bury us with am through baptism into death, so that just as Christ rise from dead through our Papa glory, we too go fit waka for new kind life.
5Because if we don join with am for the way im death be, we go sure sure join with am for im resurrection too. 6We sabi say dem nail our old self for cross with am, to destroy the body of sin, so that we no go be slave to sin again. 7Because anybody wey don die don comot from sin hand. 8Now if we die with Christ, we believe say we go live with am too. 9Because we sabi say Christ, wey dem raise from dead, no go die again; death no dey rule am again. 10Because the death wey im die, na for sin im die, one time for all; but the life wey im dey live, na for our Papa im dey live am. 11Na the same way, count una self as dead to sin but alive to our Papa inside Christ Jesus.
12Because of that, no let sin rule inside una body wey go die, so that una no go obey wetin am dey crave. 13No give the parts of una body to sin as weapon for bad-bad thing; instead, give una self to our Papa as people wey dem don bring from death go life, and give the parts of una body to am as weapon for correct-and-holy way. 14Because sin no go get power ontop una, because una no dey under law but under grace.
15So wetin now? We go sin because we no dey under law but under grace? God forbid! 16Una no sabi say when una give una self to person as slave to obey am, una be slave of whoever una dey obey—whether na sin, wey dey carry go death, or obedience, wey dey carry go correct-and-holy way? 17Thank you, our Papa: una bin be slave of sin, but una obey from una heart the pattern of teaching wey dem hand over give una. 18As dem don set una free from sin, una don become slave of correct-and-holy way.
19I dey talk for human way, because una flesh weak. Just as una bin give the parts of una body as slave to dirty thing and lawlessness, wey bring more lawlessness, now give dem as slave to correct-and-holy way, wey dey bring holiness. 20Because when una bin be slave of sin, una bin free from correct-and-holy way. 21Wetin una gain that time from the things wey una dey shame of now? Because those things dey end for death. 22But now, as dem don free una from sin and una don be slave to our Papa, the fruit wey una dey bear dey carry go holiness, and the end na life wey no dey end. 23Because the pay wey sin dey give na death, but the gift wey our Papa dey give na life wey no dey end inside Christ Jesus our Oga.
