Leviticus 4

4 ¹ Our Father spoke to Moses, saying:

² Tell the Israelites: If a person sins unintentionally against any of our Father's commands, doing what must not be done, and breaks one of them, ³ If the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, he must bring our Father a young bull without defect as a sin offering for the sin he committed. ^a a v3 The sin offering carried the guilt of the one who had sinned and was put to death in their place. It pointed forward to Jesus, who took our guilt upon himself once for all. ⁴ He shall bring the bull to the tent of meeting's entrance before our Father, lay his hand on its head, and slaughter it before our Father. ⁵ The anointed priest takes some of the bull's blood and brings it into the tent of meeting. ⁶ He shall dip his finger in the blood, sprinkling it seven times before our Father in front of the sanctuary veil. ⁷ The priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense before our Father, which is in the tent of meeting, and pour all the rest of the bull's blood at the base of the burnt-offering altar at the entrance of the tent of meeting. ⁸ He shall remove all the fat of the sin offering bull: the fat covering the entrails, and all the fat on the entrails. ⁹ the two kidneys, the fat on them near the loins, and the liver's lobe—he removes with the kidneys. ¹⁰ as removed from the ox of the peace offering; the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering. ¹¹ But the bull's hide, all its flesh, head, legs, intestines, and dung. ¹² He must carry all the rest of the bull outside the camp to a clean place where ashes are dumped, and burn it on a wood fire; it must be burned where ashes are dumped.

¹³ If Israel's whole congregation sins unintentionally, and the matter is hidden from the assembly's eyes, and they do one of the things our Father commanded not to be done, and become guilty ¹⁴ When the sin they committed becomes known, the assembly must offer a young bull as a sin offering and bring it before the tent of meeting. ¹⁵ The elders of the community lay hands on the bull's head before our Father; then it is slaughtered before our Father. ¹⁶ Then the anointed priest shall bring some of the bull's blood into the tent of meeting. ¹⁷ He shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle seven times before our Father, in front of the veil. ¹⁸ He shall put some of the blood on the altar's horns before our Father in the tent of meeting, then pour all the rest of it at the base of the altar of burnt offering, at the tent of meeting's entrance. ¹⁹ He shall remove all its fat and burn it on the altar. ²⁰ He shall do the same with this bull as with the sin offering's bull. So the priest will atone for them, and they'll be forgiven. ²¹ He shall carry the bull outside the camp and burn it as he burned the first bull; it is the assembly's sin offering.

²² When a leader sins, unintentionally doing anything our Father commanded not to do, and becomes guilty, ²³ If he learns of the sin he committed, he must bring as his offering a male goat without defect. ²⁴ He shall lay his hand on the goat's head and slaughter it where the burnt offering is slaughtered before our Father — a sin offering. ²⁵ The priest will take some sin-offering blood with his finger, and put it on the burnt-offering altar's horns, then pour the rest at its base. ²⁶ He shall burn all its fat on the altar, like the fat of the peace offering. The priest will atone for his sin, and he will be forgiven.

²⁷ If anyone of the common people sins unintentionally, doing any one of the things our Father commanded not to do, and incurs guilt, ²⁸ When he becomes aware of his sin, he must bring a female goat without defect as his offering for the sin he committed. ²⁹ He is to lay his hand on the sin offering's head and slaughter it at the burnt offering's place. ³⁰ With his finger the priest puts some of its blood on the burnt-offering altar's horns, then pours all the rest at its base. ³¹ He shall remove all its fat, as fat is removed from the peace offering; the priest shall burn it on the altar—a pleasing aroma to our Father—and make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven.

³² If he brings a lamb as his sin offering, he shall bring a female without defect. ³³ He shall lay his hand on the sin offering's head and slaughter it as a sin offering where the burnt offering is slaughtered. ³⁴ With his finger the priest is to take some of the blood from the sin offering and apply it to the horns of the altar where burnt offerings are made, then pour out all the remaining blood at the altar's base. ³⁵ He must remove all its fat, as the lamb's fat is removed from the peace offering; the priest will burn it on the altar atop the fire offerings to our Father. So the priest will atone for him for the sin he committed, and he will be forgiven.
