2 Thessalonians 1

Book
Chapter 1.

Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, to the Thessalonians' church in our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace from our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thankful for Your Growing Faith

We must always thank our Father for you, brothers and sisters — rightly so — because your faith keeps growing more, and each of you grows more in love for one another. So we ourselves boast about you among the churches of our Father, for your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and sufferings you endure.

This is proof of our Father's just judgment, that you're counted worthy of our Father's kingdom, for which you also suffer. Since our Father is just, he will repay trouble to those who trouble you. and to give relief to you who suffer, along with us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his powerful angels in blazing fire, bringing justice on those who don't know our Father, and on those who don't obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will pay the penalty of eternal ruin, away from the Lord's presence and his glorious power, On that day, when he comes to be glorified in his holy ones and admired among all who believed — for our testimony to you was believed.

To this end we always pray for you, that our Father may count you worthy of his calling, and fulfill by his power every desire for good and work of faith. so our Lord Jesus' name is glorified in you, and you in him, by the grace of our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
