Numbers 16

16 ¹Korah pikin of Izhar, wey be pikin of Kohath, wey be pikin of Levi, gather men join body, together with Dathan and Abiram, wey be pikin of Eliab, and On pikin of Peleth, wey be pikin of Reuben. ²Dem stand for Moses front with 250 Israelite leaders of di community—people wey dem choose for di assembly, men wey get big name. ³Dem gather against Moses and Aaron and talk sey, “Una don pass di limit! Di whole congregation dey holy, all of dem, and our Papa dey among dem. Why una dey put unaself for top our Papa assembly?”

⁴Wen Moses hear dis, e fall down with im face for ground. ⁵E talk to Korah and all im company sey, “For morning, our Papa go show who be im own and who dey holy, and e go bring dat one near to imself. Whoever e choose, na am e go bring near to imself. ⁶Do dis: make una take censers, Korah and all your company. ⁷Tomorrow put fire inside dem, lay incense on dem for our Papa front. Di man wey our Papa choose na im go be di holy one. Una don pass di limit, una pikin of Levi!”

⁸Moses still talk to Korah sey, “Listen now, una pikin of Levi: ⁹E never do una reach sey di Papa of Israel don separate una from di rest of Israel congregation, to bring una near imself, to do di work of our Papa tabernacle, and stand for di congregation front to serve dem? ¹⁰E bring una near—you and all your brothers, di pikin of Levi—but now una wan di priesthood too? ¹¹You and your whole group don gather against our Papa. Aaron—na wetin e be, wey una dey grumble against am?”

¹²Moses send make dem call Dathan and Abiram, di pikin of Eliab. But dem talk sey, “We no go come up! ¹³E never do reach sey you bring us comot from land wey milk and honey dey flow, to come kill us for di wilderness, wey you must still dey rule over us? ¹⁴Plus, you no bring us go any land wey milk and honey dey flow, or give us fields and vineyards as inheritance. You wan comot dis men eyes? We no go come up!”

¹⁵Moses vex well well and e talk to our Papa sey, “No look dia offering. I never take even one donkey from dem, and I never do any of dem bad.”

¹⁶Moses tell Korah sey, “You and your whole company, make una show unaself for our Papa front tomorrow—you, dem, and Aaron. ¹⁷Make every man take im censer, put incense on am, and bring am for our Papa front—250 censers—you and Aaron, everybody with im own censer.”

¹⁸So every man take im censer, put fire inside am and lay incense on am, and dem stand with Moses and Aaron for di entrance of di tent of meeting. ¹⁹Korah gather di whole congregation against dem for di entrance of di tent of meeting; and di glory of our Papa show to di whole congregation.

²⁰And our Papa talk to Moses and Aaron sey,

²¹“Separate unaself from dis congregation, so dat I go fit finish dem for one moment.”

²²Moses and Aaron fall down with dia face for ground and cry sey, “O our Papa, di Papa of di spirits of all flesh—wen one man sin, you go vex with di whole congregation?” ²³Den our Papa talk to Moses sey,

²⁴“Talk to di congregation: Make una comot from di dwelling place of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.”

²⁵So Moses get up and go meet Dathan and Abiram, and di elders of Israel follow am. ²⁶E tell di congregation sey, “Comot from di tents of dis wicked men. No touch anything wey be dia own, if not, di whole of dia sins go carry una comot.”

²⁷So dem comot from di tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram from every side, while Dathan and Abiram come out and stand for dia tent entrance with dia wives, pikin, and dia small pikin dem.

²⁸Moses talk sey, “Na so una go take know sey our Papa send me to do all dis things, and sey nothing among dem na my own idea: ²⁹If dis men die normal death, di kind death wey dey happen to everybody, den our Papa no send me. ³⁰But if our Papa create something new, and di ground open im mouth swallow dem with all dia own, and dem go down alive inside di grave, den una go know sey dis men don despise our Papa.”

³¹As e just finish talk all dis things, di ground wey dey under dem split open, ³²di earth open im mouth, swallow dem, dia households, all Korah people, and all dia property. ³³Dem and everybody wey be dia own go down alive inside di grave; di earth close over dem, and dem perish comot from di assembly. ³⁴All Israel wey dey around dem run wen dem hear dia cry, because dem talk sey, “Di earth fit swallow us too!” ³⁵And fire come out from our Papa consume di 250 men wey dey offer di incense.
