Psalms 101

Book

Integrity Within My House

A psalm of David.

A ruler's own code of conduct. He commits to keep worthless things off his eyes, to silence the secret slanderer, to hire only the faithful and let no liar live in his house — and each morning to clear wrongdoers out of the city.

Chapter 101.

Of covenant love and justice I will sing; to you, my Father, I will make music. I will be careful to follow the blameless way. When will you come to me? I will walk with integrity of heart within my house. I will set no worthless thing before my eyes. I hate the work of those who fall away; it will not cling to me. A perverse heart will depart from me; I will know nothing of evil. Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him I will silence; the one with haughty eyes and a proud heart I will not endure. My eyes are on the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; the one who walks in the blameless way will serve me. No one who practices deceit will dwell within my house; no one who speaks lies will stand firm before my eyes. Every morning I will silence all the wicked of the land, cutting off every evildoer from the city of our Father.
